L2800 "standard" tractor - 3 point hitch videos

Teg, I have a 2005 2800 with the Hydrostatic drive. I also noticed the "jerky" action on the 3pt while using a post hole digger. Strangely enough, it does not show up with the box blalde or the shredder.

As to your PTO, I had the same problem. The cable system on the PTO has a tendency to stick and bind (at least on mine) due to being exposed to the elements. I keep a can of WD-40 on hand with the nozzle so that I can keep the cable lubed.

I have a L3400 purchased new in Dec 05 with a matching FEL and it is a DT trans. The problem with this tractor is what is called the cushion valve. It is just behind the rear seat up next to the top of the housing and they can access it from the top without tearing down the entire rear and draining the fluid. Mine did the same from the day I drove it off the lot and I use mine 90%+ for hauling stuff on my carry-all on the rear and the FEL on the front, mainly for hauling maple sap in the spring and cutting and hauling wood in the summer. I have 57 hours on mine and used it for aprox 20 months before taking it back to the dealer for the issue. I wanted to make sure nothing else was wrong with it.

Since I used a carry-all on the back of it all the time, I noticed aprox 3 times that when I had it all the way up in the air with the tractor sitting still and running loaded or unloaded, it was apparently leaking off some and it would jump back up on the rear of the carry-all aprox 6". Also, it seemed to affect the lift capacity too on the rear as it didn't have as much as it should have in my opinion. I have only used it a little since the warranty repair, but this seems to have fixed all the problems. Definitely, the rear hydraulics are now very smooth and no jerking whatsover.

It is called a cushion value and this should take care of about all the problems out there it appears.

I was just wondering , if I went in to a Kubota Dealership and bought a control valve now , would I get the old or new style ?
If the new style then it is not a "upgrade" it is a "replacement" .
And how much did the old style cost ? Bet it was same as the new style , so not a "upgrade" .

My dealer called it a cushion valve?? My tractor serial # is 61464 and was supposed to have had all of the shudder valve problems taken care of before it was produced. The dealer didn't have any idea what was causing the problems, but they are very caring and spent time on the phone with Kubota and they diagnosed it without tearing down the tractor. They sell about 25 to 30 of these L3400's every year and would sell a lot more if they could get them which is the same as the L2800, just more HP. As far as economy tractor, they sell very few of the Grand L series and have about 1 of every size on their lot, but they can't keep the L3400 in stock and sell them nearly as fast as they get them in. Not only are they caring, but probably have about the best prices in the nation from everything I saw on here when I bought mine. I got it with the matching loader and fluid in rear AG tires with matching Kubota loader for $ 14,700 in Dec 05.
It is still probably the most popular compact tractor sold. No bells and whistles, but seems to be a good solid tractor in my opinion. They are up in the 70,000 to 80,000 range in serial #'s now for the L3400, so they must be doing something right.

I have a L2800 with the jerky 3 point. My salesman and the service department swear they have never before had a complaint or heard of the problem. I am trying to get a little more informaiton to confront them with. Is there a Kabota part number for the new valve? Is there a serial number that from that point on has the new valve and before that you have the old valve?

Thanks,

Alex

i have a L2350 and when i have the RPM'S up, the 3 pt hitch is jerky

when i throttle down for a second, they are smooth as silk and strong.

don't konw if this applies or not - the video seemed like yours was throttled up pretty good.
