Kubota L2800
Hey ya'll I'm a newbie to tractors and this forum. From what I have read so far this is best place to get information, so here goes. I just bought a Kubota L2800 HST and I really like it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gifWhat year was the L2800 built first? Is it best to purchase a FEL from Kubota or another Brand?

Welcome to the forum. The first L2800 was introduced in '04 with the HST version introduced in '05. The Kubota LA463 front end loader was engineered to fit the L2800 & L3400 tractors. It is a very good loader. Hope this helps.

Howdy, I just purchased an L2800 HST a month or so ago. I'm a newb so I can't rate it against any other tractor experience, but I'm sure loving it.

As for the loader, I asked the same question while spec'n my tractor. The majority of folks pointed me to the LA463 loader from Kubota. The dealer wanted to put a BushHog brand loader on it, but after doing some research I found some complaints about it being excessively heavy.

I don't know whether that's true or not, but given that a good number of people have had good results with the LA463, it was engineered by Kubota for this tractor, and the prices were similar, sold me.

Plus, it's an integral part of the tractor, so I just feel better knowing it's not after market.

Hey, thanks for all the info. I just got home with a LA463 loader and man does it work Great! Flakrat I'm in the same situation as you, this is my first tractor to own and have nothing to really compare it to but some rentals I had for a day or so. Does yours have the jerkyness in the hydraulics like mine?

I have the 2004 L2800, and it was my first tractor, and I've been very happy with it. I talked to a Kubota guy at the Texas State Fair last week, and he told me Kubota is aware of a "problem" with the jerky hydraulics on the L2800. The hydraulics still work fine, they just are not smooth. Check the archives at TBN, and you'll find many posts on this. Seems that the bounce is more noticeable with HST, but my 4WD has it also.
