Yep, I thought of that alteration. I did that to my trans range lever on my Kubota to make it more accessible.

In your case, this moves the knob forward. Will it now be too far forward for comfortable use when lowered??

With all that said,,,, it disappoints me that Kubota sells a system that doesn't work. Especially in something so simple as lever location. :(

Considering it is a "factory" kit, that is overpriced for what it is, considering the install instructions are crap and mine had the wrong hardware.

I bought factory for the fit and finish, and didn't get that at all.

Well, i suppose the hoses are decent.

Have to agree, such simple things to produce properly and are missed. This happens will ALL the different manufacturers on simple things as these control levers. I have come to the conclusion that most of the time it is simple due to the people designing are just that, designers and not end users.

I have pointed similar type things out to factory reps, as to why is this like this on one tractor and different on the next when the better way of doing it is actually less money. :eek: Again, I believe it is because they simply do not know or understand because they are not end users.

Well stated Brian. I totally agree. Pretty sad though. You and I feel a personal responsibility to do it right. These people do not. They just want paid..... :(

I'm a "factory fit and finish" guy too. I added two rear remotes, FEL 3rd function, and dual PTO to my M9540. All with Whole Goods Kubota kits. I did that to get quality, easy to use systems. I paid a premium price. In my case I received quality products and have no regrets at all.

Sorry your situation has not been the same.

I had to bend my levers as well. Mine was a custom install with FitRite parts. So I had to fab my brackets & levers. Nice joystick for TnT & another lever for the 3rd function.

Really happy with the setup, the parts & learned a lot engineering it.

I got the tractor back today. Of course its raining.

Maybe I'll have to do that to my L4330 if I ever get around to installing all of mine. Removing/moving those filled rears has me a bit spooked!

I agree with Brian that something like this shouldn't happen with proper design fortified by actual installation and use by end users. Which is why I'm doubly disappointed in this - the "kit" involved should be no different than the actual production parts used on tractors that are supplied from the factory with the rear remotes already installed. So am I to understand that in all the L3301 tractors sold with factory installed remotes, NO ONE has previously complained about this poor design and prompted a correction?

My guess is YES. No complaint has made it past the dealer level. I have no doubt that the irritated customers get, "That's just the way it is". :confused3:

Typically the response that I get is a turned back and they walk away. I have yet been asked, "How can we fix this?" or told "We are aware of the problem." Everyone wants a pat on the back and be told how great their product is and there is nothing wrong with that, but nothing is perfect and there is almost always room for improvement and a lot of the time that improvement doesn't need to cost any more $$$ than what they are currently spending.

So with that type of mind set, it's not a wonder as to why things are the way that they are. :(

Well hopefully the fact I had my dealer involved and they had their kubota rep involved, might provide at least one data point for kubota. That, or ive been labeled a "picky customer". =]

That's a workable fix. By offsetting the 3pt lever they put the lateral problem we discussed earlier on one lever rather than three. I like that much better than shortening and moving forward.
