the dealer said that the clutch worked 1/2 way to shift and all the way to stop the PTO, is that the case with the DT model?

No, the L3200DT just has a single stage clutch, no halfway stuff. The L3800DT works like your dealer said.

thanks, that is what I thought. Does the PTO slow down significantly to cause a problem when at the end of a row in the case of tilling/mowing?

No, not too bad on a rotary mower, a finish mower will likely stop as will a tiller though.

I really like the two stage clutch on the 3800!

When i bought mine I looked at the L3800 and passed because I didn't need the extra hp. However I wish now I would've bought it for the double clutch. It's worth the extra 1k if not for the HP def for the double clutch....

makes me think once again, as I do not want to be disappointed. I will have to ask for the price difference and see. I also have a width issue, as I have areas of tight woods and trails will limit passage, but looking at it now, they are the same width.

They are the same size. Like said the 2 stage clutch is worth the difference and the extra HP is nice when needed. Price was pretty close when I was comparing. The L3800dt has surpassed my expectations, no regrets here.

Each are great tractors.Considering I bought mine mainly for bushogging, i regret not getting the "live" pto. Granted it's a 1K I saved, but honestly i spend more than that each time I buy a new gun.lol. Now you take a L3200 with a "live" pto and actual syncro tranny and you will have a ultimate compact tractor for the money. If Kubota builds that I will never look at another Grand L in the future.

I tried the Mahindra syncro tranny and was impressed, but the loader was just too low to the ground for me. I am waiting for the price for the l3800 though.

My dealer said it would be around another $1k for the l3800 upgrade and another $1k for the Hst. Just to give you idea.

hard decision, not sure what I have planned would justify the extra 1K, some tilling, hogging, I have not even been able to try a gear drive here (south fl), since they are crated until a new owner wants it. Hence the multiple schizophrenic hesitations.
