After 9 hours on my new L3400 (LA463, BH75), I'm discovering just how much work I could have been doing the past 5 years had I taken the plunge sooner. This thing is built like a tank and has proportional power, and still is small enough to be very maneuverable.
However, I'm grinding gears whenever I shift out of neutral. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif And it doesn't matter which way I do it: either shifting from neutral to low range and then selecting a gear, or vice versa.
If I'm already in low range and shuttle into reverse, there is no grinding. Same for if I'm in reverse and shuttle into low range. Just a nice, smooth little click. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I have been doing as the sticker on the dash says and pushing the clutch all the way down (not just halfway) before shifting.
I must be doing something wrong. Any clues? And no "engineer-on-backhoe" jokes! I hear enough of those at work! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
