Kansas: I noticed on a later post of yours, many of the jobs you have planned are AG in nature (Mowing, moving round bales, haying etc.) I would choose a GST over HST for those jobs. You have potential for heavy lugging and consistent pulling. Most of these jobs require stable speeds and few direction changes. If your plans are more for loader use, hobby farming, a hydrostat would be the choice. HST produces more heat and overall slightly less efficient. A GST is basically a gear drive with a hydraulic clutch to shift gears.
