I just have problems :confused2: I have a $10,000 DIRTBIKE :confused2:, but refuse to pay over $10,000 for a decent tractor . I know I am crazy :ashamed:, but I ride bikes all the time , and use a tractor a few times a year . If I could I would buy a few of each Kubota tractors and backhoes :D, with a new F250 .

Rental guy ( the 1st L35) is still holding his , he is behind and is in no rush to sell . It will be 2 weeks before I could demo it . SO he is cool with me looking around . Rough, loose and $14,000 frim

The pic above , is the L35 I am looking to buy . He is holding it until Sat at lunch , so road trip .... Looks better , pins tight , $14,000 firm ( he was asking more ) but it has a very small blow by . If it drives good , works good , and does not smoke alot or have alot of blow by , I am going to buy it .

10 hours a year! RENT.

Honestly, that will not even come close to covering you cost.

I can do more work with a backhoe/loader ( so more Hrs per year ??) . I have to have a tractor , some years more Hrs some years less . With no Hr meter on the Ford its hard to know . Plus I have a few friends needing work done and I need a loader to do the work . They are willing to PAY $$ . SO I hope to make some cash helping friends .

Trust me you will be spending more and more time on the tractor! you can use the TLB to make a dirtbike track.... I used a Case 580E to make my track but grew out of it and bulldozed the whole thing...

I asked the guy all about the " SMALL blow by" WOW , he does NOT telll the TRUTH !!! . It was dripping on the floor:confused2:. Smoked so bad out blow by, looked like a feight train . He said it was ok , not BAD comne on over !!! I was so mad to drive 3 1/2 hrs one way to look at it . He came down $500.00 after I showed with the cash . I would still buy it , IF he came off price by $2500.00 so I could rebuid motor . Day wasted , only good thing is that , this unit was TIGHT !!! so that tells me the rental is VERY VERY loose . So still looking for a tractor with loader 4x4 with R 4 tires 30+ hp or a L35 or L 48 :( AND going to stay AWAY from the rental I looked at

Goochy, don't get discouraged, the right tractor will turn up. Just going by this thread, it seems like you have fixated on a commercial TLB unit like the L35 or L48. I'm going to suggest you would benfit from expanding your horizon a little. You've said you have some property that needs work, that you will do both "tractor-oriented" chores and "dirt-moving" chores. Industrial TLB's are not the only equipment capable of doing that, and they have two significant drawbacks that you have already discovered: a) they cost more, because they are made for commercial use, and b) many of the used ones for sale have been beaten to death. So, you might also look for a used Kubota L model with FEL and backhoe, for example. Unless you plan to start a construction business, it should also be capable of doing the kind of work you've described, maybe save you some money and maybe do the "tractor work" better than one of the construction machines. You might also find one with less wear and tear than the typical construction TLB. And, consider other brands besides Kubota. While orange is my preferred color, when buying used, the condition of the individual machine counts the most.

If you want to verify the cost of any Kubota parts for repair without going to a dealer, consult (TRACTOR SMART.COM). They are a very informative group of guys, with true answers to your problems, even on a question...able purchase, without trying to sell parts or other componets, you maybe able to get buy without.

 Thanks for info , YES , I am going to look at other colors , but I do LOVE orange ( my KTM dirtbikes or orange !) Everything I own is orange :confused2:. I am going to look at 35-40 Hp tractors with R 4 tires, 4x4 and loader . I think a ft end loader and boxblade would do 75% of my work . The L35 did seem slow and weak compared to my OLD Ford 3000 , 4x2 45 Hp tractor .

Also the rims were BUSTED on the rear , around bolt holes . One side had been cut out and replaced , othe side had about 20 cracks . I was amazed how tight the little L35 was , to have a wore out engine and wore out rear rims . Its on EBAY for $11,000 so BUYER BEWARE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is a bummer on the tractor.... ebay sale says nothing about the rims :confused2:

Just keep your eyes peeled and you will find a tractor for the price you want!

I have been very satisfied with my JD 110 TLB. It has HST, which I consider a big improvement over the shuttle shift in the L35.

5 years ago when I bought it, it was considered a direct competitor to the L35/L39, although it could also be compared to the L48. It will do everything you want and then some.

14 K with 1900 Hrs?
My good friend after a lot of coaching from me and searching on his own landed a L35 for 18 K with 530 hours. Even if he paid 20 K for the L35, that is 1400 Hours for 6,000 dollars. At $4000 more than the 14K this guy wants, he got a deal. This was in Central Massachusetts also!)

My L39 has beeen worked hard for 1150 hrs. It still runs good, greased regular, but the loader pins have some slop now, and the paint is not pretty. The hood welds have cracked and the front axle seals leak a bit. It is going to be tired at 2000 hours. I hope I start using it less.

Keep looking for a lower hour unit or find someting for less than 11-12 K

What I meant was an L35 with 2000 hrs has lived the better part of it's half life and is only worth $11-12 K.

I'd expect to pay 18-20K for a 500 Hr machine, and all things considered, that is the better value.

I just sold my 1997 l35 with 1600 hrs for 17'500 with the backhoe, I bought it from a rental place with 900 hrs on it for 17,500 they just put a new clutch in 50hrs before I bought it they had a dealer put it it and the cost was $978.00 they gave me the reicept, the only thing I have had to do to it is replace 2 hydrlic hoses that brooke my falt anyway I used the tractor for constructin work and up keep of an motocross track draging, brushhoging and box scraping tractor worked flawlessly!!! The reason I sold it is we needed more hp for bailing hay and to pull a larger drag and disc I bought a kubota L4200 with a cab to replace it.
