:(:( NO 3 pt hitch :mad: He said he has no idea where it went . So now that effects the price I am willing to pay . It was loose around the bucket area , not real bad ( his newer model felt almost the same ) . Oil was full but BLACK :confused2:. Backhoe felt ok sitting still , still have not started it yet .

The oil turns black pretty much as soon as the engine starts. So that would not bother me.

I saw a long slot on each side of tractor under floor board ( side of tractor ) could not find 3 pt arms anywhere . Did I look in the right area ? SO how much is this going to cost ne . I called , USED if I can find them $350.00 - $450.00 for all 5 parts . 2 arm , 2 upper arms, and center link .

The 3 pt hitch linkage does not store on a L35 . I bought mine new and had to ask for it at time of purchase . Threre have been other members on this site looking for the 3 pt hardware , not sure if any of them found the parts or not . You could use the search feature on this website .

I purchased a new L-35 in '94...the tractor was so popular then, that I had to pay full price of $32,000, but it's been worth it to me. One caution before purchase, make sure the 4x4 works well!! A friend of mine purchased one a few years ago from a rental yard, and had a "wild ride" down a steep hill, with a full load in the loader while in (4x4), as the tractor started to slide the rear wheels, and accelerate forcing him to use the loader as a brake! The front wheels were "free-wheeling" while in 4x4!

I assume it was left in 4x4 its entire life, and the differentials was warn from constant hard surface use, stressing the drive-train in tight turns too? I only use the 4x4 when needed, and am aware of the binding on hard surfaces. If you make tight turns, even in two wheel drive, the "outside" front wheel will skid, unless they have corrected the geometry there,... eating those small pricey tires up? Also, if you become a serious buyer, have them pull the filter located under the pedals/floor board on the "right side" of the tractor, as you watch for severe contamination! This will give you an overall clue the condition of the hydraulic system. If its highlly contaminated with metal, I would walk!! It's a tough tractor that should have been painted yellow, but TLC is required for a long life! If you purchase it at that price, which is maybe fair; make sure it has the three-point kit that was standard.... otherwise it will cost you another $1000+ for that kit! If not, that is a bargain chip for you?

Don't know where you're located, but at least these will give you a bit more idea about pricing for future choices.

Good luck in finding the right machine for you.

Thanks for info . The 1997 fits my price range !! How much slack should be in ft bucket pins ? It was loose , but been sittting for 6 months with no grease .

That is super cheap. Just the adjustable lifting link on my L4200 costs $160. The whole setup would easily be over $500 directly from Kubota.

I bought my L4200 w/ 9' Woods backhoe with about 2000 hours for $15000 with a trailer (so call it ~$13000). Although mine is 45HP, I would consider my setup close enough to what you are looking at to be a comp. I thought it was a fair deal - 40+ tractors w/ backhoes seem to bottom out at about $12K, so I could still recoup most of my initial investment if I wanted to. I have 2500 hours on it now after 5 years, and I've easily done $50k in landscaping and road work with it. I replaced the tie-rods when I got it (boots were shredded) and recently replaced the starter, so ~$400 put in plus filters/oils/etc.

Bucket pins should have no play, incidentally. If they do, the machine was not maintained properly. My bottom two bucket pins are really sloppy, but the tractor was run by the PO w/o grease for an extended period of time (like 2 years) and the bucket pins are literally worn about halfway through. I put about 10 pumps of grease in there just about every time I use it, so they haven't gotten worse since I've had it. I actually DID buy new pins, but I've been too lazy to put them in.
