I have a L4310 that has heat and A/C. The A/C doesn't work at all, and I am curious how the system even works. I would expect to see some condenser lines and heater hoses going up to the top of the cab, but I have found none. Is the system straight electric? there is a 30 amp fuse for the a/c, is that for the compressor clutch, or an electric compressor? I am pretty confused, so if anyone has any info, I would really appreciate it!

I don't know about the location of the components on this particular tractor, but on mine the condenser is by the radiator, compressor in the engine compartment and evaporator in the roof. Someone recently posted this link: Troubleshoot Automotive Air Conditioning Problems
On my cabbed L4200 the AC lines run up the left side, inside the winshield post... and the heat runs up the right post... Just follow the lines off the the compressor and condenser... you will find the evaporator ... and the same with the heater hoses... you will find the heater core...
If you are thinking of running AC and heat from electricity (12volts), you will be looking at HUGE wiring and an alternator nearly the size of your engine...
... seriously remove the outer cab roof, you will see how everything is ran.
Have you checked the operation of the compressor clutch and is there a positive refrigerant charge...? KennyV
