L4330 vs. L5030 - Very tough call

Do yourself a favor and BUY THE L5030! Check out my old thread regarding L4330 and low power. Read it twice if necessary, but get the L5030.

120 miles is not THAT far away. Yes prices are regional, but within a couple hundred miles I would tell your local dealer to take a hike if he is not willing to match that price or at least come a lot closer.

Like another poster said - see if the 120 mile away dealer will throw in a few trips for service.

And do yourself a favour and get the L5030. You've got enough land there and enough work to do that you will not regret the extra HP IMHO.

When in doubt always get the bigger tractor.

"... but are you referring to the L5030HSTC for 26,800. That sure seems like a low price."

I checked my invoice and I was off by $100. My L5030HSTC, R4's, with 853FEL and bucket: 26,900 delivered (70 miles one way)

That is one truly amazing price, the best I have seen by a long shot. It is highly unlikely that it could be matched in other parts of the country.

Get the 5030. Just my opinion.
Just go get the 5030 120 miles away for less money.
I think the extra $$ for the 5030 is worth it.
It is always the same story: You pay your money and take your chances.
From my experience Kubota is worth it.
Good luck, get the tractor, have fun, forget the dealer salesman process.

I agree with Muleskinner.

I had a 4330, and thought it was plenty. I upgraded to a 5030HSTC, and was shocked at the difference. I pushed back some palmettos with ease. I know the 4330 would have bogged down on it, but the 5030 uprooted the palmettos with little effort! Right after I did that, I had memories of what Muleskinner stated about the 4330 not having enough power. Now I am a firm believer in what Muleskinner stated. I don't know why 7HP makes a BIG difference, but it was enough to make me take notice.

I recently upgraded to a 5030 HSTC from a blue TC40D. Yesterday I was pushing down trees and pulling out stumps that my old 40 hp tractor would have been able to handle and would have stalled if attempted. You will not be disapointed with the 5030 and you will appreciate the extra horsepower even if you will not need it all the time.

I just thought I would update everyone that I ended up finding a used L4200 GST for $11,900 and ended up getting that instead of a brand new tractor. I saved a bundle and the L4200 seems to be a pretty good tractor and still has a LOT of hours left in it. I couldn't justify over double the price to get the L5030 but I had decided that if I bought a new tractor it was going to be the L5030.

Thanks for all the input.
