Hmmm, Another 4350 owner with the same symptoms. This has happened before, but re grounding the ground wire seemed to clear it up. We haven't waited for the glow plug light to go off and will try that. For the key swx, we did hear some electrical noise from under the dash, pulled it and everything appeared normal - Perhaps a R&R is in order but maybe I'll look at hotwiring first to see if removing the swx solves problem. We did check the heavy guage looped wire - It's not fused (atleast I didn't think it was) and I did pull apart, inspect and re connect - I'll have to do that again as well. For the wiring, we get the same voltage reading from the new battery posts or from the positive term on the starter, so it's not that wire anyway. Perhaps changing the ground cable as well. I hate electrical problems - They are not easy buggers to track down. Keep the advise coming - We'll get this figured out. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

OK Folks - An Update. We are suspecting the key switch and possibly or (perhaps only) it is the relay between the key switch and the starter. The relay is suspect as when we apply power from ignition lead on key swx to starter lead on key swx, the realy buzzes/vibrates. The key swx is suspect becuase it's in the chain - With key on, no dash lights. Key to start produces nothing although voltage drops on both positive leads when keyed to start. Also, key swx off lead indicates voltage even when key is off. Neither me nor pop in law are good electrical engineers so even we suspect our suspects! Any thoughts? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I looked in my manual (L4400) and there was no electrical diagram. There is a fuse chart and on mine #3 fuse which is a 10 amp is panel lights,#5-5amp is key stop,#7-5amp is for the starter relay,and#8 which shows to be three big fuses beside the battery,I assume protects intire elect. system. If none of these are blown you might try turning the key on and wiggleing the wires at fuse block and any other connections and watch for lights to come on.This would tell you if it is a connection problem. If nothing happens I would suspect the key switch.Maybe some of this info. will help.GOOD LUCK!!!!!
