If you are not doing any haying, it will be enough for your use. I just purchased one for some of the same uses as you, but don't have as much property.
Your dealer may not have one, but the
M5040 Cab would be a close price to the
L5030 cab. That gives you a larger frame, heavier duty loader, nicer cab, really nice seat, one remote and the quick attach loader bucket.
The remote and QA bucket will cost you extra on the
L5030. If the price you were quoted on the L5130 is with the QA loader with heavy duty bucket, that is a great price. It's not a bad price even if those are not included. My price, before adding QA and HD bucket, was $31,670. The QA and HD bucket added $950.
The M series cab is right at 100" in height, while the 5030 cab is 89". That made some difference to me as I have some clearance issues to deal with. The M is wider by about 6", but it really doesn't weigh very much more - I don't remember the exact numbers on that. It's also a longer tractor by about 9". I would think stability would be hard to predict as to which is better.
FYI, the 5030 handles cat II implements as well as cat I. It is rated to handle up to a 7ft rotary cutter at roughly 1100 lbs. I bought a Woods cutter (6ft), med duty as they call it, about 1100 lbs. It is a brute at cutting and the 5030 handles it fine.
Hope all this helps. They are both fine tractors - a tough choice, especially comparing the
M5040 cab to the
L5030 cab since the price is closer. I didn't need the M series size, but I sure did want that M cab seat - awesome comfort!
