My L4330 was CAT-I, and of course so are my implements. When I received the L-5030 it came with a CAT-II three point and two spacers so I could still use my CAT-I implements. Although, the pin size of the L-5030 top link is the same size as my L4330. Is that correct? The top link has a CAT-I pin size yet the lower arms are larger? I never had a CAT-II three point, so I am not sure if that is correct.

Thanks,

Joe

I went from a 3130 to a 5030 and it has the same size top link but has a grease fitting on both ends, and the one on the 3130 has one it in the middle.

That's exactly what I have! Just wanted to make sure.

Thanks,

My L5030 came with a Cat II top link. The top link pin on a Cat I hitch is 3/4 of an inch, on a Cat II it is 1 inch. This is at the implement end of the top link not the tractor side. My tractor came with three bushings two for the lower links and one for the top link. If your top link has a 3/4 inch bore than I suspect the wrong top link was installed when the tractor was being preped for delivery.

My 5030 has a cat 2 top link but came from the dealer with a bushing and cat 2 end installed at the housing.

I use almost exclusively Cat 1 equipment on it and never use the bushings on the lower links.

Interesting! I am going to take the top link off and have a close look! I thought it was odd that the lower arms had bushings yet my top link fit the CAT-I implements with no bushings...

Thanks,

Joe

You can flip the top link end for end, with the supplied bushings you have a lot of combinations available.

Thanks jrepp. I opened the manual and it was documented in there too. Now I feel kind of stupid since one of my favorite sayings was RTFM (Read the manual)

Thanks,

Joe

Hey Joe, I'm sure it was just an honest mistake, but I think you left out a word - RTFM is four letters, but "read the manual" is only three words? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Oh my! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif You are correct. The F stands for FAVORITE. So it's read the favorite manual!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

When I was in the Army, that letter took on new meaning! It was a verb, pronoun, noun, and adjective!!! I got the RTFM saying from my Drill Seargent. There are still some things that guy said that I will never forget!
