L853 Loader versus 1020 woods

I must also agree that it is a dealer issue. Several members with L5030's like Daryl 5030 and someone from Texas whoose name escapes me right now have had nothing but praise with some minor exceptions from Daryl 5030. I have no doubt my dealer would have it nipped in the bud and fast. They have a mechanic there that just seems to have ESP with tractors. He knows what to ask before you can even begin to wonder what to ask. The loaders are made in Georgia somewhere. If the loader hydraulic ram is popping a seal on the lift cylinder, I suspect either a bad seal, bad ram or bad cylinder. If its doing it on the bucket I would suspect much the same or operator error. It's easy to over pressure the hydraulics back dragging or even worse, when you go forward and catch a partially dumped bucket on an immovable object. I really would suggest getting it repaired correctly by the dealer and consider selling it and even switching brands.

Sorry to hear of your problems with your L5030 and Kubota. I've had my L5030HST for just over a year and only have about 150 hours on it, but I have had absolutely no problems with it(knock on wood) or the FEL. I've used a 5' tiller, a 3-bottom plow, 8' disk, 6' heavy box blade, and a 6' heavy duty rotary cutter on the 3-point hitch without any issues, as well as moving and spreading probably a hundred or so yards of fill and topsoil. I've left the bucket on the loader up overnight and not had it drop by more than a couple of inches, and the same with the heavy rotary cutter on the 3-point.

Either you have an incompetent dealer / mechanic, or a lemon of a tractor. Either way, I hope you get some resolution to your problems. I just wanted to point out that the issues are specific to your tractor and situation, and not any inherent design or component problems with the L5030 tractor model.

Good luck,
-Chuck

Thanks woodchuck and rat. You don't think I'm getting a bit tired of this situation, do you? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I just got a call from the dealer to come pick up my tractor again. (they don't deliver or pick up no matter what /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif) They replaced the lift cylinders this time. I guess we will see if that fixes it.

Do you think when I pick it up I should tell the dealer that I spent 12k with another dealer who sells Grasshopper mowers (like my Kubota dealer does) because the other dealer not only picks up and delivers my mower, but took one out to my property to demo? It may be just me being unreasonable about what I expect for service, but in my opinion, their crappy service is why I bought the same product they sell somewhere else earlier this month. Obviously, it wasn't chump change either; at least not to me.

Hopefully this guess by their tech. will fix my problems with the 5030 that I've had about half of the time since I bought it in January or so.

Whether they look like they respond to your comment about the Grass Hopper or not, you can bet it does not fall on deaf ears. When you figure how many of those are sold, which is a small percentage of their sales I would think, they know every lost customer is a hit. That plus the lack of you giving them credibility as a dealer to work with. I certainly hope your issue was a defective cylinder. For most of us, the L30 series has been super with the possible exception of Ramon49.

Well the specs on the 1020 woods are fairly accurate. I has within 3/4 inch of the specs stated. Having said that we have put 275 hours on the 4630 and it is a wonderful machine. It takes a little getting used to being in the small cab, but the dust and shade it provides are well worth the adjustment. As for the loader's reliability, removal is a snap, speed and power do not dissapoint me, the only negative is the tightness of the remote cab valve, we are still looking into this problem and are planning on having the dealer look into this we we have time to leave it with them.
