If you have been running the rippers all the way down and possible with the top link shortend to get as much shank in the ground as possible I could see that happening.
Also even in normal operation with the shanks lowered all the way when only one shank hits a large rock it will put a lot of impact force on everything.
That said that looks to be kind of light construction for being "rated" for 90 horse,
the last time I looked at blade HP ratings they had 2 one for two wheel drive and one for 4wd and also a max weight on the tractor.

The spec sheet says 40hp - 90hp tractors. They don't differentiate between 2wd or 4wd.

Photo attached showing what the specs say about the scarifier support tube.

If you are still making payments on that, the Kubota insurance should cover this.
I have the same land plane that you do and this doesn't look good.

Unfortunately I paid cash.

Even if LP gives me a new one I won't be using the scarifiers until I get it properly reinforced. The scarifier support tube is the weak link. The scraper function works great year round. Better on soft soil obviously.

Pierced tube looses a lot of strength. Like how EA builds brackets behind the tube for strength for their rippers.

I got rippers on my EA land leveler. Less than two minutes I had tore off two ripper teeth on my driveway from big rock/boulders. I didn’t need to go that deep on that type of ground. No damage to frame or shanks. I fixed, my fault. Didn’t need to run rippers on my driveway anyway. In the field they do OK.

For some reason, I can't get the pic to post properly, but I'll give it a go..

The pic shows how every tube we pierce for ripper shanks is reinforced. Every single box blade and land plane with a pierced tube gets the extra horseshoe plate.

To answer your question, I do think this is a warranty issue, due to a poor design. Unfortunately weak and/or poor designs are quite common in the industry.

Those reinforcements look great. If you don't mind I am going to download that photo and add it to my warranty arsenal.

Looking ahead I'd like to hear opinions about how to repair my LPGS and beef it up so it doesn't happen again. Thanks.

I have a SF2577 scarifier with the same issue, but i bought it used. the bar they claim is reinforcement is not well attached inside the tube. i have a 28 hp tractor, not sure what the previous owner had. its a weak spot for sure. I was thinking of using a post vice i have to squeeze them back in, grind out the cracks and weld, and then weld an angle along the entire back of the tube. if i had an easy way to cut plate, i would probalby do some brackets like the EA stuff for each hole, top and bottom.

hammick, to me if LP does not stand behind this would really be surprised and I have never owned one of their implements. If me I would load it on trailer with tractor I was using and show up at the dealership. Walk in expecting them to replace it. If the dealership is not able to handle that then and there would expect them to be on phone with LP and have it being processed before I left. With no damaged to the shanks don't see how they can believe there blade was not defective.

Several years ago I bought no idea the brand rear blade rated for like 45 or more hp. Was using it on my Kubota B2710, a compact tractor with 27 hp and caught the end of the blade on a root or stump. Bent it greatly. Blade may have been a week old. Did just what I said and with taking it back to the dealership and they handed my cash back for the blade shaking their head. Noticed never saw another of those blades on their lot.

If LP did not want to replace it, not repair it, would sure tell my story. It is not impossible LP has a rash of these as they could have gotten a lot of wrong spec metal or even used thinner metal by mistake. If they have another blade on their lot look at how thick it is before you speak to the dealer.

I do have a King Kutter brand rear blade I bought near 20 years ago. Over the years about ever weld on it has failed, terrible workman ship but it cost me less to have the welds repaired than the trip back to the dealership who I truly believe would have replaced it. It was also rated for higher tractor than I was using.

Now to move my blade shopping to EA...

To me the thing that should limit the depth you run the scarifiers at is the traction you have. You should not have to worry about tearing the grader up if it is rated for 90 hp and you are using a 56 hp tractor. Roads have embedded rocks - just a fact of life.

Dang, I just picked up a GS2584 yesterday and then I find this.

I just had 2,000 yards of gravel put down on my 1/4 mile driveway so I probably won't need the scarifiers right off the bat. But I do plan on offering grading services in the neighborhood so I should probably think about beefing it up. I'm pulling it with a 7000 Allis so I'm a little over the horsepower recommendation.

I wonder if bolting a shallow channel to the back of the cross member would be effective? Ideally having the channel legs just keep the back of the shank from contacting the crossmember. I'm also planning on adding a roller to the back. I've got a haybine conditioner roller that I think should work.
