I'm impressed by the response of your dealer. I would be looking at EA extreme I think. they do not mount the shanks in the tube, but a reinforced, welded plate bracket.

Hammick, Those pictures are horribly frightening! I just got a Land Pride GS1572 on 3-25-2021. I've used it twice now with Great results, but I haven't used the rippers yet at all.
I went right out and looked at mine, the tubes are 4"x4.5" and 4"x4" width. All are 1/4" thickness. When I removed a ripper and looked inside the slotted hole I can see an approximate 1/4" thick bar welded all through the insides of the bottom tube - which makes that portion about 1/2" thick. I can't for the life of me believe that my 27hp tractor would ever put enough stress to bend it....but your pictures are proof that it can be done!
You can bet I'll be paying "close" attention whenever I do need to use the rippers.
The two times I have used it I did go real slow anyhow as I'm just learning "how" to use it and I want smooth results. Although, all the videos I watched - show everyone just blasting along their roads when pulling the GS!! Since I'm new to this machine I am moving much, much more slowly.
I'm sorry about your issue but am hoping it was just a one-off. I can only hope for not having that issue, but it if occurs I'll get some reinforcement steel welded onto the back side if the bottom tube.
