Rake Landscape Rake Wheel Kits

I checked at TSC for a wheel kit for my King Kutter 6' Landscape Rake. They are special order and with the shipping and handling came to about $250 at TSC.

I see in Northern Tool that a kit for the Howse brand is $155. Would this fit the KK or has someone found a cheaper source for the KK wheel kit?

Is making your own an option? If you own or have access to a welder, you could probably make a better set for less. I'll post a picture of mine if your interested. I know there have been other homemade ones posted in the past.

Even if you can't weld I think the "drill and bolt together" approach could work very well.

I remember seeing someone's wheel kit here recently, built from a pair of swing away trailer jacks, the sort with jockey wheels. I think that was something he had designed/invented for all his dirt moving tools; rake, grader blade, box scraper, etc and I think he used 2 inch square tube trailer receiver steel as his adapter standard. Hitch pins on/off move them to another implement,

I picked up a set on ebay last year for $35.00. I ended up having to put tubes in the tires for $10.00 more dollars. Also as mentioned you could fab up a set. Shouldn't be too hard.
