Last Man Standing

I think a couple of things are beyond dispute here. First, most TV and virtually all Hollywood media is created and owned by people who describe themselves as liberal or even very liberal. The content of what they produce and distribute reflects that ideology. This has nothing to do with right wing perceptions. It is what it is. The second thing is that the networks are their own entities and free to do what they choose. If they did not like Last Man because its ideological 'bent' was different from those who pull the strings, it is their prerogative to ditch the show whether it was successful or not. The third thing is that observing that a liberal network is ditching a show that is making money is not the product of a wingnut conspiracy. Again, it is what it is.

So, bottom line is that it is CBS's prerogative to do whatever they want with a show they own for whatever reason they want to. The problem comes when CBS tries to posture as an unbiased entity. They are not required to be unbiased and it is perfectly fine for them to be biased. But it is laughable hypocrisy for them or anyone else to suggest that they are not biased or that such bias does not enter decisions such as this. That would just be silly.

Amen! And the same goes for ABC.

The show is well written and well casted IMO...the characters are unique and entertaining...

Yet it's funny that in a nation that accepts Affirmative Action and equalities for anything or anybody...why is not half the air time of broadcast media equally split between liberal and conservative content?

Careful....you'll be accused of wingnuttery.

We live in a deeply divided nation. We also live in a nation of deeply held convictions coupled with unprecedented ignorance. No one can lay claim to openmindedness and tolerance anymore. At least that ship of hypocrisy has sailed. Now we know its all about "my slice of the pie" and "hurray for my side". We can put all pretense of occupying the high ground aside. Its all just a big ole pig sty now.

I have read your posts and am impressed with your insight and maturity. I do not, however, share your degree of pessimism. I have seen evidence that we have some very bright, right thinking youngsters coming up and believe that there is hope. Ignorance seems to be the main problem; and as long as the liberals are in control of our education system, we do have a lot to overcome.

I enjoy the TV show "Last Man Standing". I have always been a fan of Tim Allen. The show is the complete opposite of most shows on television. It is a good clean moral show that is about as anti-liberal as I am. ABC has decided to cancel the show after 6 seasons despite the very high ratings. I have signed a petition along with over 200k others so far and I would like to ask any of you folks that are fans to sign as well.

Petition * ABC Network: Save Tim Allen'''s Show "Last Man Standing" * Change.org

If you are interested in watching the show, reruns are aired on the Hallmark channel and on CMT.

I signed it too.

And silly they are. Ask any left wing journalist if he is biased and he will tell you "no, no way!' Of course it is what it is as you say, but they will go to their grave not admitting who they are and how they perceive the world.
