Built this this afternoon. Going to buy a few loads of sand and drag it around my yard. It is rough, very rough in spots.

I must give credit to the guy who made this YouTube video:

I added a piece of C perlin at the front that is 3/4" aboce ground level, thinking it will kind of act like a mini box blade and distribute some material, the next piece of angle rests on the ground, the next is 1/4" above ground, the last sets on the ground and is slightly angled back to help carry some material and also cut in a little more.

I may add a piece of "hog panel" behind it as well.

Nothing is welded so I can adjust as needed. The width is 7'

I love it!! I was eyeing some things like that when I went on the hunt for material. I have some really big pallets that would have probably done just as good of a job.

I built this drag out of 4x4's, plywood & large spikes. I drag it around with my ATV. Spikes down if busting tilled land. Spikes up if leveling off those nasty pocket gopher mounds. View attachment 646849

An old bed spring would be good for that. Just put/tie some loads to one side of it and drag it around.

Your idea brings back lots of memories. :)

My drags always got caught on something like stumps. Save yourself some time and put at least one diagonal brace on it so it doesn't get all twisted.

You sir are correct, I added some bracing. I think this should do the trick.

I debated it yesterday but was thinking that I would just be dragging sand, what's the worst that could happen? You are totally correct, Murphey's law will prevail.

I had some thin angle iron laying around, didn't even cut it, should work to add some rigidity.
