Hey all. Thanks for the advice and info. Still been too busy to deal with it. :rolleyes:
Among other things, the truck's clutch master cylinder bit the big one :eek:, had to deal with that and had to replace ball joints (sigh).
The thing that feels spongy is the sealant around the heater bushing, not the heater itself. Sorry if that wasn't clear. Other things taking priority right now, so it might be a while 'til I get to the block heater, but I will let you know how it goes.

Wow, it's been a while! Finally hauled the tractor over to the dealer and he took the heater out, cleaned off the foam sealant and used the Teflon tape this time. It's been a couple days and so far, so good.
