Leaking braided fuel line.

The fuel line is a simple fix no matter how you go about it. As for the gear grinding the problem almost certainly is you. The transmission is not synchronized. You basically have to be stopped to shift. It is a tractor not a ford mustang. I learned this in about 2 minutes of operation. Take your time and think about what you are doing. Yes even the PTO still turning will cause it to grind if you do not pay attention as stated previously. You have purchased one of the most basic and most dependable designed tractors they produce, don't expect high tech from 50 plus year old design technology.

Well said. 4025 transmission are not synchronized. Clutch has to be pressed and shafts and gears in transmission stopped to be shifted. Mahindra does offer synchro transmissions in different series like the 4035. Lines leaking need to be fixed but your transmission has no problems.

My post was also assuming that the clutch is adjusted properly, functioning properly and depressed "all" the way. We all know what assuming can make me. Ha Ha!

A tractor should not have a failed fuel line at 12 hours, we can all agree with that. I'd be a little miffed as well. But setting out to get a pound of flesh over a $25 fuel line leak is a little over the top. But who knows, maybe he's got other things brewing in his life. We've all been there.

No doubt there were a batch of bad hoses, and often not at the crimp. I think the hose material was defective. I think any dealer would just hand you the hose or mail you the hose if you felt comfortable replacing it. Mahindra never unfairly scrutinizes these hose replacements, they are aware they had some leakers and they want them fixed.

Warranty does not cover hauling or service calls, but dealers want to keep customers happy, so that is sort of a case by case deal for most dealers/customers. If you do have it hauled in, ask them to replace all of the fuel hoses if they are the black braided type. The new grey hoses do not leak. As JerryK mentioned as an alternative, it is easy enough to remove the crimp and just replace the hose and install a clamp if you do not want to involve the dealer at all. But another one might then leak. Best to fix them all.

4025 is non-synchro. Depending on when it grinds, it might be the nature of the beast. I will say that is one tough transmission.

Late getting back to my post/response.
Yeah, Bill's Tractor in Adkins, Tx., is the dealer I bought it from. When I called them about the leak their response was "bring it in for repairs and it's under warranty" or "svc call to replace the line is $99/hr., the fuel line will be " no charge."
When I questioned the grinding gears, was told that was "normal" just ease the gear shift easily and it will go in gear with little grinding.
Braided fuel line was the "overflow" line, not repairable so I ended up doing the repair myself. Dealer wouldn't let me do the work and swap the line with them, it was either they did the work or I could do the work and have to buy the line. Didn't seem to be willing to work with me.

One last thing, who is this DSR that is mentioned and how do I get in touch with them? I'm not happy with the dealer or the equipment.

Thanks...

The line is easily repairable

Well, I worked with repairing different types of lines for 40 years and I don't see how this one can be repaired. First thing, I 'm not just exactly sure where on the line the leak is, it's somewhere under the braiding. Second, I don't feel like I should have to be repairing a line with 12/hrs of operating time on it. Kinda rubs me wrong when I spend $30,000 on some equipment and 11months later I'm having to make repairs to it. Dealer wouldn't even swap the old one for a new one.

Yeah it leaks under the metal braid. I always clip off the crimps at the banjo fitting then slide on rubber line with a clamp. as far as the return you can do the same just with plastic T joints and cheap fuel line. I do understand the disappointment but only 12 hours in 11 months can be part of the problem. Still I can see you frustration... and Billls is a very respected dealer in the area so im not sure what to think... all in all if it was my tractor id just fix the line or buy the new one and put it on to get back in the field... not letting something small take up my time and my worry... just me though. hope you get it figured out.

The crimp isn't on the banjo fitting, it's on the hard line where it makes the connection to the braided fitting. The hard line comes about 8 to 10 inches off of the banjo fitting before it crimps onto the braided fitting. Again, there's no way to tell you where on the braided fitting that it's actually leaking, it could be right at the crimp, where, in my experience they usually leak, or it could be further up the braided line.
Already got it fixed, wasn't that hard to do, just aggravating that it broke and I had to buy something that was under warranty.
