Buying Advice Leaning toward Kubota B2601-- what else should I consider?

Lots of good advice. Based on your usage, I would seriously consider the L2501. I have a B2620 have been very happy with it. I don't believe the discount Ls had hydrostatic transmissions when I bought mine, and my trailer wouldn't have handled a bigger tractor.

I would like an L, but not enough to consider a trade unless I was able to afford a L 3901 or bigger-I have gotten into planting food plots and would like the extra power and weight.

Will brings up a good point - How will you move your tractor over a distance? Consider if the dealer picks up and delivers, rental of a trailer, or purchase of a trailer.

Rental can sometimes be a problem because a lot of trailer rentals may not be big enough for 50HP plus tractors, I've had that problem with my M4700.

Purchasing a good 10K or 12K trailer is usually about $2K to $3K, but then you've got a trailer whenever you need it.

I have a B2920 (similar to B2601) on 16 heavily wooded acres. I do all the things you have listed with it except clear snow (not much need for that where I live). You are not going to lift large logs with the FEL but you can drag them (loaded tires are helpful). I have a lot of privet hedge, some that can be bush hogged and some(~ 6" diameter trunks) I have to push over with the FEL to be piled up to burn. The privet hedge is not deeply rooted. A L2501 would probably do this job faster just due to the extra weight. A lot of it depends on how fast you need to get some things done. The B can probably take care of business for you but an L2501 can do some things faster and will lift more.
