LED LIghts added to B2650

Great idea. What diameter do you use? I'm thinking air brake tubing may be a better way to protect video camera cable than wire loom when I finally get around to installing my FEL bucket camera.

Depends of number and size of wire. Have used 1/4 to 3/4 with good results. comes in green red and black colors depending on where you are running it

Nice, Varmint. I'm looking forward to hearing how you like the spots once you get them mounted. I'm assuming from your comment that you'll mount them pointed directly out to either side. Not sure I'll add side lights to my NX4510, but was thinking floods would illuminate a bit better immediately to the sides if I do.

Yup, I plan to mount them aimed a bit forward, but mostly down to the sides. I have one forward flood light, and one spot, but they are aimed directly forward, and in my case, downwards. There's still the problem of the loader or plow blocking light right down in front, but I don't have a solution for that. I just want light to see well in whatever situation I am in, and multiple LED's are low draw enough that I can do it without stressing the alternator or battery. The forward LED lights are so much more useful compared to the factory incandescent lights that it's sad.

I'm a real noob when it comes to wiring and setting these LED's up. I do know that I really don't like the way to loader blocks the lights in winter. I would like to place them on the side of my ROPS.

Is there a diagram / parts list that I can see visually.

The manual says that the cig lighter is 120 watts. Does that mean I can put a couple of LED forward facing on the ROPS sides, and one on the slow moving sign backwards and then connect them all to the cig adaptor if they are all together under 120 Watts?
I'm sure even I can splice them all together lol.

Ok knowledgable ones.. tell me the correct way

I would think yes. But I would have the front and back lights on two switches after the plug.

I could draw up a diagram but in terrible at drawing. My 6yr old sister makes me look like a noob

I think that idea is a good one.. the switch
I think I can get the wiring routed ok too.

I googled the switch, but I can't seem to find one that I had in my mind.
Perhaps I'm searching for the wrong term.

Any idea were I can find a switch, or housing for them?

Don't forget, 120 watts is 10 amps, which might be all your circuit is fused for. You can get nice, waterproof switches via eBay for under $5 apiece... If your Kubota is like mine, there's a 10 fuse on the fuse block for "work lights" and an unswitched wire to use, with two wires back to the rear of the fenders for lights. I just carefully cut two rectangular holes for the switches where the plastic dash panel was void behind the front.



I didn't see what model Kubota you have, but many of them have natural mounting locations on the ROPS hinge area which doesn't compromise the strength, and puts them in the right spot, in terms of height, protection from side impacts, and keeping the ROPS clear for things like auger handles, etc.

Just got a B2650 that has a dynamo instead of an alternator and was concerned about drawing too many amps if I added aux lights. I found 2- LED aux lights on ebay for $20. these lights draw 18 watts of power each and have 1800 lumens . I also ordered 8 -1156 Led replacement bulbs for all the other lights. (2 headlights, 2 for the flasher , 2 side flashers and 2 for the taillights.) These led lights draw 3.29 watts and put out 240 lumens each, cost $10for all. That's a total of 62.34 watts. and with a battery voltage of 12.6 volts, it equals out to about 4.9 amps of drain on the charging system. I've heard that the dynamo puts out about 10 amps max. so I did some checking and at 1300 rpms with all lights on including the flashers, battery voltage holds at 12.8v.

If you want to upgrade to an alternator setup, the 40 amp upgrade kit from Kubota for the B2630 works on the B2650 as well. Took a chance and ordered one to try and installed it yesterday, everything plugged in and bolted up as it is supposed to.
