Does anyone know if the Light kits from Bxpanded.com will work with the light harness on an L3901? I'm Looking for a good work light kit to add to my tractor and saw this. I'd prefer LEDs over halogen but mainly just want a plug and play type work light setup to make night plowing easier.

Quick-On Work Light Kit

Also interested if there's a better option for plug and play type work light setup.

Wow, I must have missed that they were halogen. Either way I'm still looking for a good plug and play work light setup that will work with the existing kubota harness if anyone knows of any. This still seems like a decent kit if it will work on my l3901.

Too expensive, even being plug and play. Your L3901 has work light wiring under the left fender (will be taped to the harness going to the rear lights. It is very easy to connect a switch and light to that. Can even find a match for the factory plug if you want, though that's not necessary -- a standard female flat connector will slide over the pins.

You can get decent good LED lights from Amazon/eBay/etc for $12-40 nowadays. Add a few bucks in for wiring and switch, and you can normally do a two light setup (one forward, one revers) for under $50-60.

There are a lot of threads about this, either for the 3301/3901, or their predecessors L3200/3800. I think I made one for the lights on my L3200 if you want to search on my username.

Good luck!

I'd second what s219 suggests: you can buy serviceable 27W LED lights, make some simple brackets, wire up a switch or two, and you are illuminated front and back for under $100. I have lite 3 Kubotas now, here's my latest set-up. Night time snow plowing isn't much fun without a cab, but at least I will be able to see. I've purchased lights from Amazon and eBay, never had any issues.

That's a nice setup varmint. Next time I see an aura of light coming from the direction of Maryland, I'll know who it is.... ;)

I'm going to start a post in the Build it Yourself Forum about 55w Halogen vs 48w LED.

Regarding the install, I've added front and rear work lights to the ROPS of two New Hollands, and it was pretty straightforward. There was an unused two prong power plug under the seat. The plug is like half a 4 prong trailer connector, and I bought one at an auto parts store to connect to it. Then it was just a matter of making a bracket for the Tractor ROPS Lights 2.jpgTractor ROPS Lights.jpgswitches (front and rear lights), running the wire around the ROPS, securing with cable ties, and installing the lights.

A little late to the party but I got a new Kubota L3901 in late October and just added ROP lights. 2 forward and 1 back from www.ropslight.com. LED lights are very nice and come already wired up on brackets that are easy to attach. Wiring was ready to go for my specific model. Could have had it on in less than 30 minutes but was trying to decide where I wanted them mounted on ROP. All the wiring was enclosed in plastic conduit and came zip ties and directions. Pricy but for me was worth it. Looks like professional job.

I had thought about going to LEDs on my skidsteer. I have 2- 4" square halogens in the front and 2 in the rear. They are extremely bright and durable but more is always better. I opted not to go with. The LEDs because I use the machine for snow removal, and the snow would likely not melt off the housings during a storm. I have LED strobe bar on the roof of it and I'm always cleaning it off during storms.
