Kevin - No problem
1) the wire to the switch would be a new wire. I would use a #12 blue wire just to maintain a consistent color code.
2) Yes. A wire from each to each light would be the way to do it.
3) Correct
4)White 86 goes to any good ground. Either find a screw connected to the frame that you can put it under or drill a small hole somewhere and put in a self tapping metal screw with lock washer. If the wire does not have a lug on the end, I would suggest putting one on it for a better connection. You can put a bare wire under a screw, but a wire lug would be far superior.
I modified the sketch again to better show it.
And again, be sure to check the relay module for any signs of a + (or maybe a -) sign.

Hey Guys,
Got everything hooked up just as you layed out, flicked the switch - worked first time. I haven't had them on for any length of time, but I'm sure it should be ok.Thanks again.

Hmmm, no "expertise" here. I just used good old Paint that's come with every version of windows since 1.0!!!

As far as BB's drawings, I would imagine they come from a CAD program or maybe even Visio type program. I've used several freeware electrical schematic programs before that would give this type of output. Heck, I've even seen some that will simulate the circuit and give you voltage/amp readings, etc.

Micro..... I have enough problems trying to operate a paint roller with the paint that comes in a can. Trying to use "paint" on the computer is definitely out of the question!!!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
