WOW, 4shorts just found this thread. I usually look for threads you start but missed this one. How much to make a set of those lights:D??? They are awesome.
I also believe in the more lights the better. Just watched the local news a couple minutes ago a man who was on his tractor clearing snow from his driveway got hit by a car when backing out into the road and was killed.
That is why I added some lights to my tractor but not as many as I would like. Do you have a link to where you bought the lights from?

Thanks for sharing the projects that you have done with us!!!

Thank you Eric for the kind words. I wanted to do the video to show everyone just how I did it plus it's a little easier than just posting pictures. To bad about the poor guy on the tractor. Always bad to hear these things this time of the year.

The lights are made by Grote and the part numer is # 77362. The part number is for one. The lights are LEd and water proof. You'll also need a small wiring pigtails that go into each light and they will be water proof as well. There will be three wires on the pigtail. One is ground. One is park and one is stop. If you hook up the park wire the light will flash slow. If you hook up the other wire the light will flash fast and just don't connect to slow wire. I went with the fast flash :D

I don't need to tell you that it gets a lot of attention ;) Oh. The cheapest place to purchase these lights will be from a Tractor truck parts store. Places like Napa will want your first born to buy one. I think up here in Canada I paid around $30. each and about $4. for each pig tail.

Thanks for posting as well. Happy New Year to everyone! Paul

Try northerntool.com for lights. You can also get a light boxes like he built sku330552 from northen. They also have other styles.

You could also try etrailer.com or ebay.

Guys, I am not up to speed with you on this lighting project but want to add some to my 3030. Is the benefit of the LED lights that they are bright, or that they don't draw as many amps as other lights? Or both?

On both accounts sir. Very easy on the voltage draw, long lasting, good in high vibration areas and very bright.

4Shorts - thanks. So when you reference you bought lights for $30 is that LED lights? Or are the LED lights around $100 each (seems like I recall a thread referencing they were $100).

That was some of the classiest builds I have seen.
A whole stack of stars for your fridge.
Can you even see the door to it yet?

Was that the weather channel on the console?
How cool is That!

I'm somewhat the same.
I hated doing chores in the dark all the time and put some great road lights left over from the Honda, and it's middle of winter out back skidding in some firewood, whatever, and the Sheriff pulls up next to me.

He says your busted for shining deer!
WTh did you just say? As I shut down the Massey.
Some neighbor at least a 1/4 mile away through the woods claims this and calls it in.

I said look, the only weapon I ever shot a deer with was a 35mm camera. Then he went on his way.
Then we went on tour and had a similar talk with the neighbor.

These must be the types that claim spaceships steal their beer.

Anyway, Love that fab going on in your world.
I'm very proud of my new little Miller 110 volt, I use more than the 220v Miller 250.

RussMan With each light, one rubber gasket and a wiring pig tail to plug into the light cost me around $30each so there shouldn't be much of a differance where your too.

Philscbx Cool handle. Do you ride a CBX? They are NICE bikes :D My daily rider is a GL1800 Wing but I haven't seen a bike I didn't like. Enjoyed reading your story. I'm not a hunter either but do enjoy snapping pictures of things in the wilderness. I also like the Miller gear. Although my main business is in automotive I do a good bit of machining and fabrickating. You can't go wrong with that new Mig you got there. Very nice machine.

I got the Miller 702 plazma. Miller Dynasty DX200 with the "Crazy Cart" I designed and built for it. Got the Millermatic 251 with aluminum spool gun and the mobile Miller Trail Blazer 302 with custom trailer I designed and built. Good thing I don't weld for a living

Thanks for your reply and your kind words. Enjoyed it!

I am still looking for the one in the $30-35 range. does anyone have a link to that light?

Your not going to find a quality LED worklight for $35. Clear led are much more money than the coloured led in signal lights. On top of that LED worklights are still relatively new. Typical LED worklights by a major manufacturer are still in the $100 area, unfortunately. I wouldnt buy the one you linked to. Its only 350 Lumens. http://www.vehiclelight.com/970988.html has 2 times the lumens for not much more money. That being said , id still look to buy from a main (north american) manufacturer, like Grote or Trucklight rather than the company you linked to.

Thanks Jason. I thought 4Shorts mentioned buying the light for LED light for $30 (I believe in #31) but perhaps I misunderstood Mr. 4Shorts.

The LED lights I was refering to was the ones in the video that I made the box's for and mounted on the snow blower. That's why the video was made. I just wanted to show how I did it just in case there were other tractor owners out there that may have wanted to do the same as I did.

The only other LED's on my tractor are the top of the cab signal lights. I removed the factory ones and put LED's in there place. The top emergency light is a strobe light and the custom built the light bar for it. Hope this clears things up for you.

You can look to see how Christmas lights with LED's went up compared to the standard bulb.

I still don't think that tractor gets used as clean as it is. ;)

It just rolled up to the 50 hour mark and I did the complete full service. The Kubota service manual stated you only need to replace the Trans filter, Hyd. filter motor oil and filter but I changed out all the Hyd. fluid and front def. oils as well. It's only used for snow clearing and only plows clean snow :D

Not like in Lab City: D There you needed a magnetic seperator for the snow !

Man isn't that the truth. In the spring the snow would be black and looked awful. I don't think it's that bad there now seeing they changed over to a new system. I remember operating a 988 Cat loader over in the pellet stock pile one day when a seagull flue into all the dust and when it came out the other side It looked like a crow :D Oh the memories! Hey Happy New Year DraftHorse
