i did a search on various things this weekend and to my dismay ended up back at the Main Index. this phenomenon occurred especially with older posts!?

Were you getting redirected from a search result link to the main index, or from a link in a post?

sorry, i did not quite answer your question, this is an example of Search all entries; pertaining to brush brute, picking an entry of the search results; clicking on a reference.

it happens mostly with older entries (2001,2002 and before). i did a search on compost, topsoil, screener and found alot of information but alot of redirection back to the main index too.

When I click on the link DIVERTER LINK in this post. The main index is displayed.

Yeah, it's pointing to the old URL... http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/showthreaded.php?Cat=0&Board=powertrac&Number=200406 will work.

Muhammad, once you are in Charlie's post go to DIVERTED LINK and see what happens ... is what happens to me if i research something like my example of Topsoil, Screener etc.

Well yeah. Because his link points to a .pl file, when the .pl files have since been replaced with .php files. All .pl file redirect to the main index.
