I figured I'd bring this up again. I'm debating looking at a '85 B8200 HST 4x4 w/ ~1600 hours. I've looking for a lighter/smaller machine for light-duty work, and as a backup for my L4200. I figure I'd use it to pull a blade and/or rake for grading and gravel driveway maintenance. In a pinch, I'd like it to be able to run my 6' snowblower too (in case of unforseen L4200 failure), but I'd imagine it only has the HP for lighter snowfalls - 16HP at the PTO, I think, assuming the 3pt can lift the blower at all (650#).

This little Kubota seems in reasonable shape from the pics and seller reports. No leaks, decent tires, and has a mid-PTO, and comes with a front-mounted plow (no FEL). The plow is hydraulic lift with a leaky cylinder, manual swing. Asking price is $2850. I'm thinking more like $2000.

What do you think?

Another thing the seller said didn't work was the 'cruise control'. I've heard that term as a feature on new tractors too. What IS cruise control? My tractor has a hand-throttle lever on the steering stem that overrides the acc. pedal - is that considered cruise control, or is there something else?

I assume the cruise control on the 8200 is similar to the one on my old 7200. It's like a parking brake for the hst pedal. It will hold the hst pedal in a set postion to maintain speed without holding your foot down. Mine was broken when I got it, but all it was missing was a roll pin between the lever and the shaft. I never really used, it didn't work very well and didn't hold the hst pedal position very well. My new B2620 has a newer better version of it, but I don't use it much either. The 8200 should be a nice machine. I believe it has ps. My 7200 did not and was one of the reasons for replacing it. The price sounds very reasonable if it is in as good of shape as described. Don't be fooled by the HP rating on the older machines my 7200 was only 17hp engine and I can't remember the pto rating, but it ran all of my implements just fine. I believe the engine was a D950, but can't remember. Check my profile to see all my attachments and I used all of them on my 7200 with no problem. It was light in the front (no FEL) with the brush cutter so I didn't connect the center top link using it. I would think the 3pt would lift the blower, but it might be a little big for the machine. Probably will definetly need some sort of front end weight to lift it.
