Little Z is throwing the belt...

Perfect timing....belt just came off my z122r yesterday again. Dealer installed belt keepers due to recall last year. Guess it didn't help. Not a huge issue....I have faith in my local dealer to correct the issue. Showed up with a loaner mower and took mine back to the shop....ON A SUNDAY!!!

Didn't know there was a recall on these. I'd better check with my dealer. Thanks for posting.

There is an "updated belt guide and tensioner" for the Z122R I've just learned from the dealer.

Do you have any more information about this? Like maybe a part number for the z122r? i recently acquired one and would like to get the new tensioner part ASAP.

I purchased my Z122R last spring. Only 32 hours on it and had to replace the belt 3 times! My dealer said that he contacted Kubota regarding the problem because every one he sold are doing the same thing. Kubota's response..."We don't recognize a problem" what a bunch of BS! Dealer is very frustrated and has done everything he can on his own to correct it. ie: installed belt guards, adjusted tensioner and pulleys etc. I just got it back from them for the third time and it still continues to smoke the belt! Frustrating!!!

I took mine to the dealer and they installed a recall belt keeper, but it was the wrong one and my problems continued. Apparently, it's a different part from the other deck widths. Since then, it's been solid and no issues.

So are you saying Kubota has a fix for the problem? If there is a recall on this model, should Kubota not notify the owners of it?

I don't know who Kubota should notify, but my dealer knew there was a service bulletin and he got the parts to fix the problem. Kubota knows, and they've let the dealers know. There is a service bulletin out there on it. I'd call some different dealers to get the information if yours is not up to speed.

Thanks, Tex, I'll check it out, I appreciate that. Not sure if I'm getting the runaround up here because I'm in Canada so you would think the policy would be the same as the US, but you never know lol!
