I finally got the instructions for the mounting frame for e a 200cx on a JD 4100. Instructions are not bad, however, a couple of things kinda have me a little confused.

The manual states:

Remove paint from mounting frame to tractor frame contact surfaces (Refer to remove paint before welding or heating in this instruction)

Well I have two issues with this:

1) the mounting frames do not contact the tractor frame, only the mounting plates contact the tractor frame. Since the mounting Frame is unpainted, why would one have to remove the paint from the tractor frame to bolt on the monting frame? Seems it might be better to paint the mounting plates to me?

2) the instructions do not indicate any welding is required but it refers to welding or heating in precautionary statements but not in the actual instructions?

Then after you install everything, it indicates you should paint all exposed surfaces - after first insisting that you should remove factory paint from the frame - I dunno, does not sound like a good idea to me. I am not a painter, howeve, I don't know of any reason why the unpainted metal beiong bolted on to painted metal requires the painted metal to be stripped?

Anyone out there have experience with JD loader installations, please chime in on this, as this stopped me cold today - plus a shoulder injury from Yesterday.

Thanks

Got the instructions, going forward!

I didn't remove the paint from anything when I mounted my loader. The theory is that if the paint is left on the mounts, the bolts cannot be torqued to proper specs. No problem has been encountered after 300 hours of use and mounting/dismounting the loader dozens of times.

Yeah, i looked at the mounting frame and the paint did not have any bubbles or mounds, so
I am good to go. I just ran into a problem with the Mounting frames, thety cannot clear the front mounting for the bars that lift the MMM. Seems that I need a longer threaded bar to accommodate the clearance? Calling the dealer on Monday.
