Locating chains

/ Locating chains #12
About a year ago I looked all over on my tractor for a place to mount a chain holder. The steps, tool box and loader made it tough to find a big enough spot. I finally found a space near the rear hitch. It's hard to tell in the picture but it is about 3" away from the tire. I made a steel bracket and mounted an old ammo can on it. The ammo can does an excellent job of keeping the chains clean.

It's about 3" from the tire. It would be nice to have it further away, but there was no room to shift it over any more. The good news is that after a year of use it hasn't gotten hit or damaged.

It also has been a handy location when pulling with a chain from the drawbar.

I don't see anything wrong with expediant solutions to problems. I don't think I would put chain in glass jars however. I carry stuff like that around in my bucket, can't get more expediant than that

they don't know that utz pretzels come in a plastic jar I'm sure.

Any one else ever had soft pretzels???????

Thats why the jar is placed inside outer container( water jug)- to catch all the broken glass ;)
