Locating Rings for the Onan.

I've got a 316 with an Onan engine and wondered where a person could find rings for it especially since the Onans were discontinued. We bought a Kubota BX2200 and was going to sell the 316, but couldn't even get anyone out to look at it as a perfectly running tractor so we decided to just keep it. Anyone know of a source for parts?

Have you tried the Cummins Distirbutor. They are also Onan since Cummins bought Onan in the 90's

Hey, thanks a bunch guys. JD dealer said it would be $150 a side just for the parts. Man are they high....... On crack!

Is it a diesel? My parents have an Onan diesel generator on their RV and it's a Kubota. Parts are real easy to get at the Kubot dealer once you give them the information on what engine you have.

No, it's gasoline.

Gasoline Onan is made by Onan which is owned by Cummins. Onan parts from Distributor may be cheaper than from JD.

I went right to Cummins and they said they only had a few sets left for the B43E series. Made it really clear that is was going to be $$$$$$$$ up front. Gasket set alone was $330. Ain't happening!

The 316 is a good tractor, maybe look into a repower kit for it.

If you are going to repower take a look at Used Lawn - Garden Tractors - Mowers - Small Engines - Jim's Repair/Jim's Tractors They seem to specialize in repowers.
