Seems many have this issue. I put my original coupler back on for this reason. I even contacted LNL and let them know. One person reporting it didn't matter, now if everyone that had the same issue would contact them, I bet they would make a smaller diameter one ASAP!

I'm considering returning the LNL coupler as it didn't work for 60% of the application I bought it for.

I was never that happy with my standard LnL. It finally started leaking so bad I had to install the extra jaws and o-ring supplied with it. Was just about to throw it in the trash since I couldn't get it apart. I finally clamped it in a vise and used vise grips on the barrel to get it apart. It works better than it did to start with the new parts in it. Next time it goes in the trash though. I might try one of the $15 generic versions. Saw one of those with 55 5 star ratings.

You can pretty well bet that those were 'compensated'.

I just used my XL today, and i am not sold, it worked on 80 percent of the zerks, but some it wouldnt clamp on, and on 2 it was TOO LONG, I wonder if Amazon will let me return it even though I used it and get just the regular sized one?

Yep. That's what I use. It speeds up the process so much that the LnL became cumbersome and unnecessary to me. I keep a needle on my old trigger gun, otherwise it never gets used. I don't even own a lever gun.
