I have an LK 3054 that has remote hydraulic outlets installed on the rear of the machine. Recently I purchased a three point hitch mounted log splitter, hooked it's hoses up to the outlets and moved the splitter lever forward with absolutely no results...the splitter piston didn't move an inch. I'm not sure what's wrong and could use some advice.

The transmission fluid level gauge shows that its full. However, I note that there is a hydraulic resevoir in the PTO area with a cap that says "oil". Do I need to add hydraulic/transmission fluid to this component? Unfortunately the LK 3054 owners manual is a little sparse in the hydraulics area and remains silent in regards to this item. Any suggestions for getting the splitter operational would be greatly appreciated.

You need to energize the remote and then pull the splitter lever. Did you pull the fender mounted remote lever?

Thanks Highbeam. I'm still a little confused in regards to the fender mounted remote lever. There's a hydraulic block type outlet under the right fender that appears to direct fluid to the remote hook ups but there's no lever mounted on the fender.

If thats the standard dirverter valve, turn the little T handle clockwise until it stops.
Just remember to turn it back when your done. Otherwise the 3pt won't work.

I also have a 3054 with remote hydraulics that I use with a 3PH log splitter. I use a bungee cord to hold the lever for the remote hydraulic valve (to the right of the seat) forward while I operate the splitter. I usually run at 1800 rpm while I split. It works great.
