Long Term T700

Anyone have any first hand experience with long term use of the T700 for agricultural purposes? I am considering one for our Farm (looking at all 3 variables, Montana, TYM, Mahindra), but I cannot find anyone who has used thee tractors for this purpose long term. I have been told it is not suited for this, that it is more of a large compact tractor than a utility tractor. Drove one around the lot, but have not demoed one. Specs seem to be right in line with what I already have (Mahindra 6000 4x4) and it's doing fine just no cab. Any plans in the near future for TYM to release a larger, more powerful, heavier, cab tractor?

In late 06 or sometime in 07 they will be releasing 80 and 100 hp tractors powered by Caterpillar. This is according to the TYM America website.

Interesting! Hopefully Mahindra will sell those too. The T700 seems to fit what I want, but I'm being told it's more of a compact than a utility tractor.

Don't understand how someone could state that the T700, or its near twin Mahindra 7010CAB is a compact. They have the power of Mahindra's 7520, Cat 2 hitch points, over 6000 lbs. weight, 16.9x30 rear tires, 11.?x24 fronts, will lift over 3000 lbs on the 3 pt., etc. That's more than my Mahindra 6000 in many respects. I definitely don't consider it a compact.

Yeah I know. I've got the 6000 too. I was comparing the T700 to deeres 5420 and 5425 and the like and folks where saying that those were just so much more tractor. Personally I don't see it, but I thought someone might show me the light so to speak.

J.: Can't say much about JD's 5425 other than the specs on their web site. I am more familiar with their 5203 & 5205's which I looked at before I bought the Mahindra. JD considers both of those to be Utility machines. I have a neighbor with a 5203 which is about the same pto hp as the 6000, plus/minus 2 hp. First time he saw the 6000 he thought it was 10-20 hp bigger mostly because it is built so much heavier.
I suspect you are experiencing the same phenomenon we have here - green bias. Around here if it is green & yellow it is automatically good - even if it needs a few thousand dollars of work. From talk around TBN it seems there are other geograpical areas with other color preferences. Must be something in the sunlight, huh? Actually probably due to good dealerships.

I think you're right about the dealer relationships. Here it seems though that more and more the Deere and Bota dealers are saying this is MSRP and that's the price I get. I happen to have a very good and knowledgable Mahindra dealer who I 've done buisiness with for about 7 years now that's why I was leaning toward the Mahindra.

joel i hope you buy another mahindra. tghat is my vote. also see you are now a celebrity - look at the mahindra website. i offered on a lease return deere 5225 and 5325 they would not come off their price. the 5205 and 5105 are not the same tractor and should not be compared to the mahindra 00 series. i don't know about tym or where the dealers are, but a cat engine sounds good to me.

Cat engines are certainly good engines. So are Perkins, Deere, Cummins, Mahindra, Daedong and lots of others. I sure would like to see a Mahindra branded, Cummins, Perkins, or Cat powered 85 hp cab tractor. Let's keep the web thing under our hats!
