G'day,

I usually post in the Kioti thread and I noticed one particular thread that stated that not many owners ever wash down their tractors after major mud use or even polish or wax them.

On our farm we were taught as kids to hose down the tractors and implements after each use major use and also take about 15 minutes per day to add extra grease gun spots and protective sprays to the gear.

This way it keeps your tractors and implements in excellent condition and in the long run saves you a lot of money in future trade-in evaluations.

All of our tractor implements are housed in two huge sheds to protect them from the elements. Each tractor also has their own individual 'donga' type sheds.

Many farmers over the years just leave all their gear outside to end up as rusted heaps, why waste money?

Cheers from Riccarda /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Cool pic! Thank you for posting!

It's always a pleasure to read posts from our friends Down Under (do you refer to us as Up Over?)

BTW, it sure doesn't look like you're wearing your seat belt...I hope you do as it would be a real shame to read about a lovely lass such as you getting injured in a tractor roll over!

G'day Roy and Frank,

Yeah I usually wear my seat belt on the tractor, when it is working and under heavy power.... but I just stopped to smile for a snap of the new Kioti (Daedong) DK50 to show the Kioti thread dudes.

We just call you guys Americans, Seppos or Yanks. Most Australians and Americans get on well.

Cheers from Riccarda /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Howdy Riccarda!

When weather permits we take a pressure worser to our New Holland. With a 2600 psi sprayer one has to be careful where they direct the water. We try to keep it away from the electrical under the dash if at all possible. Some compressed air also works wonders for drying things off a bit too.

The tractor also sees wax about twice a year.

I just washed and waxed mine Sunday. My uncle was a large farmer and always kept his equipment inside.

Hi Riccarda,
Im not sure if Im responding to a post a few days ago where one fella was talking about waxing his tractor. If that was the post, I said i dont ever polish or wax my work tractor but if the tractor has been in alot of mud I will pressure wash it off. The same with the implements, hope that clarifies that /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Nice looking tractor by the way!

I noticed the post about pressure washing your tractor and wonder how many of you do the same? Also what prep/pressure settings do you do/use to not have any problems, ie, engine, fuel, grease fittings etc..... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Well my pressure washer is only rated at 1500 psi so I guess I never use more pressure than that. I try to keep the direct water spray away from any of my electricals! Other than that no serious precautions that I can think of.
