Looking at buying BX25D - questions on the BX's in general

Congrats all you guys that have the BX25s. Had one and want another one. On hillsides they are a bit scary and they very well should be. I almost turned mine over one time being a bit careless and went past a bit careless andanother time didi turn/lay it on its side. I was totally shocked and surprised as the front bucket lever went forward and it just laid down on its side in less than a milli second.
Don't ever feel confident that you can drive one across a hillside, never, ever. You may drive it across one time or 50 times but one time you may see the sky from a different perspective/angle and that one time may be one time to many. If you have to drive across a hill keep the BH bucket turned toward the upper side of the hill and low. I have driven across hillsides on my previously owned one but I'll never feel comfortable again doing it but feel less comfortable doing it on my B2620.

Congrats Code54. I think you will be happy as long as you're expectations are reasonable. The bh feet will do some turf damage as the hoe can easily drag the machine backwards. I bought a couple of HF rubber trailer chocks and put them behind the rear tires to help stop the dragging. Helps a little bit. I think they were under $10 each on sale.

Will be going to Barlows tomorrow to see price for trading my B2620 FEL BH with under 40 hours to a BX25D. Who wants a B2620 FEL BH under 40 hours for $21,000? Hate these Kubota cash rewards certificates. :D :D :D

Holy smokes, JohnThomas, why the switch? Isn't the B2620 quite a bit more powerful with a lot more reach on the BH and lift capacity on the FEL?

Yes it is. I don't need the extra reach and bigger size now and really miss the BX25. After my visit today the trade looks to be in trouble unless some one will give me $20,000 for my B2620. That's over $4000 discount. I'll be OK if I don't trade but believe I prefer the BX for my current needs. I've done a lot of work over the past 11 years and now just do home landscaping for me, my next door brother and a couple of other neighbors and light work on rental property with 6 septic tanks..

Sometimes small is really better. I could have ordered a hoe for my 5100 but there is just so many places where I am going to working the big tractor just won't fit or would really rip the yard up. I kind of figure in my case I only need a large hoe every 3 or 4 years so I will just rent a track hoe on that rare occasion.
Think John makes a good point, for home landscaping and such the BX sure looks like a great machine!

I checked it out and the B2620 FEL lifts and extra 200 lbs. or so over the BX25, and the BH digs 7" deeper and swings 10 degrees farther than the BX25 (150 deg. vs. 140 deg.), and has 3 more HP (26 vs. 23 for the BX25), so not as much difference as I had assumed. So now I guess I don't see much of a reason to switch in either direction.
