Hi, for a few weeks now when I take my tractor I lose power especially on an upgrade. I changed air filter now the fuel filters and I tried mowing. After 20 minutes I had to drop a gear. Won't pull itself ahead. If i kept on I'd have to jeep dropping gears and up the pto . Barely crawling. Then hardly make it back home. Any ideas. What about the hydraulic oil filter. If dirty would it cause this?

Well, it begs the simple question, "Did you take the brake off?". If your hydraulic filter is blocked, your loader and the rest should be running poorly as well. If you haven't cleaned the metal filter in a while, you should. Can you take a peek at your sight glass to see if your fluid is discolored? Any fluid related problems seem to get worse in the winter, so giving it a once-over might be in order regardless. As usual, try running it with the cap loose to see if any vents are blocked. I don't think you have a vented cap, but if there is a vacuum in the system it's worth figuring out why.

Ya, the brake is off, loader and all seems normal. The oil in glass looks normal. But hydraulic oil and filter are due for changing.

When my NH had the same symptoms, after similar remedies, I found there was gasoline mixed in the diesel fuel, which boiled after the tractor warmed up. A simple check is to drain some fuel into a shallow pan and you can smell the gas fumes evaporating out of the diesel. I bought that watered down fuel from a large truck stop and I believe it was done to sell cheap gas at diesel prices.

blockage in suction intake filter could cause that.

edit-disregard I misread initial post.would not apply to this unit.

If you have tried everything else, drain the fuel and put new in.

I had a tractor with a similar problem and it was the fuel transfer pump that was failing. Might be something to look at?

So it wasn't the fuel. I emptied the tank.

Check the vent for the tank. I don't know if it has a separate vent or if it vents through the cap. When it starts losing power, try pull the fuel tank cap off and see if it makes any changes.

Is the engine losing power or the transmission?
From your original post it could be either.

Well transmission I guess. I go out on road, leave in second gear all seems normal. I shift to third it doesn't accelerate. So I decide to turn around . I then have to put in first to take off. Then 2nd again might ge fine. I get in my gate with slight incline. I can't roll ahead in 1st. Have to put in bull 3rd and barely get to my garage without shift8ng it down to second bull.

It's looking like my clutch might be done. 1850hrs. Is this normal wear and tear?

It does sound like your clutch, I’m not familiar with your tractor but maybe you can check runout and adjust?
