From what I have heard from Deere dealers here is the story....
If you are a current Deere dealer and have more than 1 brand under your roof then that is fine, nothing can be done about that.
If however, like in this case, ownership changes hands and new contracts have to be signed then Deere is going to come down hard and say "Its either Deere all the way or no Deere." There may be some exceptions to the rule, but for the most part this is correct.
Now here is where it gets crazy, if a father owns a Deere dealership and retires and gives it to his son then Deere wants a new contract...well you get my drift.
Oh...and Deere has made it PERFECTLY clear that they want large multi chains stores, and they want it SOON. So if your a "smaller" dealer with one location and no plans to expand Deere is not your friend these days.
It think this will all lead to Deere dealerships being Deere owned one day...then they won't be anyting but glorified box stores.
