JD is trying to emulate the Cat system because it works. Dealers today have much more expense involved when dealing with a Deere or a Caterpillar. Technicians need more training, they need laptops, and they need sophisticated IT systems to interface with the manufactuer for Parts, Sales and Service information. All of this costs $$$ which small dealers can't afford. Weed out the ones that can't keep up, strengthen the good ones, and serve the customer base better. Sure you might pay a few more dollars on the new machine purchace, but you'll get better service, more parts on the shelf, and a dealer with long term stability. Is that a bad thing?
