I know a guy that uses his middle finger and is right handed. He's says it is east to do. No need for left handed.

I am with you there. Your gonna have a problem. I adjusted everything, except I cannot shoot from my left side. Automatic weapons and shotguns come in handy when in that situation.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Things happen so fast. As far as it being your trigger finger you mite want to try shooting 22 shorts.

It's easier to switch fingers any way.

Options?
(1) Let it heal and try to compensate with left hand, or middle finger on right hand.
(2) If you have a twin (no tissue rejection), if he dies first, get his finger transplanted onto your hand as a replacement.
(3) Get a non-relative transplant. You will need to take anti-rejection meds for the rest of your life though.
(4) Transplant a different finger in place of the index finger you lost. (Alternatively, transplant a toe.)
(5) Hope they come up with regenerative medical technology for fingers in the near future (either in labs or on the body.) I know that Brooks Army Medical Center was doing an experiment with extra-cellular matrix powder to see if they could stimulate growth and regeneration on soldiers who lost fingers; but I haven't seen any results published.

Sorry Mikim. We had a guy in Victoria that lost half his index finger. He owned a gas station mechanic type business. My buddy asked him how much he wanted for that old engine and he held up his first three fingers and said $300. My buddy said, "then why'd you hold up only $250 worth on your fingers?"

Had a foreman on the railroad that was missing the end of his thumb. Asked him about it and he says that he was chopping wood and cut it off. Tried to find the piece to see if it could be reattached. Couldn't find it anywhere until he noticed his dog chewing away. He said after that anytime he picked up the axe that old dog would be right there.

Sorry about your accident, but great post reminding us how quickly things can go south. Good luck.

Update --- the stub they left kept getting in my way - so they fixed it. Stitches come out Tues.
