I was at one of my local NH Dealers the other day and they had a used TC45 with a "Grannon" (spelling?) by Woods box blade with Hyd Scarefire. It had Tilt and top Hyd cylinders on it.

I also noticed that they had welded 2" flat bar to the bottom of the lower link arms to form a "T" beam type of set up.

This got me to wondering if anyone out there has had any problems with flex in the lower 3PH arms while doing dirt work.

I bent one of mine slightly down (1/4" - 1/2") when a load shifted. I think the lift arms are too soft, considering that you should be able to apply full lift and get into hydraulic stall/relief before you bend your arms. I think a little extra bracing is a good idea as long as it doesn't get in the way of anything. I'll try to post a picture this weekend to show my "sad" little bent arm./w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif

Jim

If you are still under warranty New Holland should replace your bent arms. They are aware that the original steel in these was too soft and replaced them. Have your dealer refer to asist bulletin Rq8908 Class 3 boomers Serial number g508677 and up came with the improved arms. If you do have the improved arm New Holland will still replace if under warranty. Standard Warranty applies to this problem

Thanks again, Spencer. That is great news. I never dreamed it would be covered under warranty. /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Brandon, here is the photo as I promised. Thanks to Spencer200, I now know that it wasn't something I did wrong, but rather too soft metal. My tractor's serial number is in the group with the soft lift arms. I'm posting this photo so other Boomer owners can see what they need to check on their tractors.

Did you talk to your dealer about a replacement yet?

Thanks jinman,

I hope that you can get those arms replaced!

I hope this problem has been corrected.

I haven't talked to my dealer yet. I'll probably do it next Saturday morning. I'm going to take this picture with me to show him along with the assist bulletin number you gave me. I don't expect a problem, but he might have to put the arms on order. If he has them, I'll offer to put them on myself and bring him the old arms. He's only about 20 miles away from my country house, but I don't like to trailer my tractor unless it's absolutely necessary.

Thanks again for the info.

I talked to my dealer (New Holland of Logansport) when I saw the first post about the "soft" arms. Even though mine had not bent, he immediately ordered new ones for me under warranty. My TC 40D has only about 90 hr. but I just showed him the asist # and he looked it up and placed the order. I am really appreciative of the NH dealer support that I have received.

Thanks for the info, Gene. This weekend I am going to purchase all the fluids and filters for my 300 hr service check and I'll show my dealer the assist number and my photo. I'm pretty sure his reaction will be similar to your dealer's. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
