the valve on the tank thats hooked up to my grill is very stiff. Is there a way to fix that? Would squirting some WD40 down the shaft be ok to do? the tank is kinda full. should i wait until its empty to try to fix it?

Wait until it's empty and bring it to on of those tank exchange places. They take almost anything, even the old style tanks as they replace everything anyway. Just for liability purposes. That's why they're so expensive.

I would not use WD-40 unless it's wet! But a little BreaK-Free CLP down the valve stem wouldn't hurt anything at all, and it may help.

How old is the tank? I'm assuming it's one you own rather than an exchange unit.

Open and close it a few times. It may loosen up the packing.:D :D

i can't see what harm spraying wd-40 on the thing will do: give it a shot.

The valve may have a packing gland that is too tight but if you are not familiar with how these work they are best left alone.:D :D

Especially with a full tank!:D :D
