LS scan tool available

/ LS scan tool available #11
Here is a link for a scan tool to read / delete the LS tractors error codes. Hope it helps someone out.

How does this scanner differ from a standard automotive OBD-II scanner? I have one that was pretty fancy when new in 2000, and I'm about to buy a much fancier (pro-mechanic-style) automotive OBD-II scanner for $500-ish. It would be great if those could work on my 2016 LS XR4145. Where is the scanner port?

typically the ports are under the dash covers towards the floor, usually on the right hand side but can sometimes be located in the center, but be forewarned even the LS factory setup we have here to hook into the XR models some of them require an adapter plug to function(not all of them but some), secondarily the software these tractors run is as far as i am aware not available to the open public, even us as dealers have to have ls give us some of it sometimes when we reprogram them, because its not the same software on each unit it highly depends on which engine the unit in question is equipped with, i have seen that some scanners will give you the failure codes in f codes but not all of them will give you the secondary p code that is attached to the f code which helps to narrow down the specifics of each code failure.
That being said having a scan tool available for modern tractors is something i would recommend for anyone who wants to trouble shoot their own equipment and do their own work, especially if the unit no longer covered under its warranty period. These ca be a huge help in general when trouble shooting issues.

Don’t know how it differs, but I do have this scanner for my XR4140 and it does read codes.
I’ve had an intermittent stalling issue (documents in a couple threads here on TBN).

Didn’t get any useful info.
Then again, neither did Dealer tech with the official scanner/laptop.

Last time he was out, thought we had success by bypassing the fuel filter using a direct line from tank to pump, with inline filter. This was suggested by corp LS tech. Partial success in it hasnt stalled but still goes into limp mode while working, but no codes. Waiting for tech and next attempt.

New to sight and have been a happy owner of a XR3135H for five years now. Bought it new and currently have 1250 hours. I replaced the EGR recently and scrubbed the canister with power washer. Dried it over my wood burning stove before re-assembling. Now I can't get it to regen. I looked both sides for the ODB port to assure myself that it would fit the scan tool listed at the top of this thread. The tractors not throwing any codes but when I try to force the regen it stumbles then flashes off. Not sure where to go next with it. Still runs and preforms normal.
