Just to clear something up that Gary mentioned, not all NH's are made by LS. In fact I don't believe ANY of the NH tractors bigger than Compacts are made by LS. (I'm sure ill be corrected if I'm wrong:) )

Ha, ha, ha. I just bought my first tractor, Kioti DK45SE HST (still waiting for delivery as I am optioning it out) and it was battling very hard with a LS R4047H for my bank's money. I really like the LS and the dealer, who came recommended by a coworker. And my fiance really liked the "blue tractor" and told her friends we were getting a pretty blue tractor...

I read many hundreds of posts from end to end on TBN for LS and Kioti models and was an OP on some as I was trying to narrow my options. After many trips to the LS dealer who is ~ 40 miles away vs. two trips to Kioti dealers, 3 hours away, I decided on the Kioti due to operator station ergonomics (always hit my leg on the parking brake handle on the LS), FEL (better published specs except for breakout force) and the separate, rear 3PH operation when hooking up implements. Plus I never could get the LS FEL to lift and curl at the same time.

I did find things I disliked about each model and liked most of everything on each tractor. On the LS forum I found a bunch of posts concerning the loader bolts coming loose, which also happened to a coworker and he snapped two off. And on the Kioti forum there was a bunch of tractors with electrical starting/running issues.

If money were no object, I may have purchased a Mahindra, as they just seemed to fit me like a glove or the Yanmar LX, as I really liked their direct injected engine and no glow plugs.

I never found a perfect tractor and was planning on getting the LS as I was expecting it to be ~ 10% less expensive than the Kioti. But they ended up about the same price when optioned out the same. So the price, better for me ergonomics of the Kioti, along with its quieter engine (did not have the typical diesel clatter the LS had) won out over the larger tires on the LS, along with he LS' better/heavier duty bucket. I really liked the LS tires.

Another advantage to the LS is it should be more reliable as its engagement operation of things like 4WD is more mechanical, (but I did not like the engagement rod flopping around its hole in the floor) vs. the Kioti's electrical operation. I am just hoping I do not have any significant electrical problems.

Unlike all the other brand topics this one is getting boring. NO ONE complains of tractor not starting, something not working etc, etc. where folks like myself can contribute to theories as to why it isn't working. Here it is just, "I love my new LS", I just got my new LS XXXX and love it.

THIS is good news for LS dealers and owners but HECK guys, TBN is for solving problems for tractor owners not a DR. Ruth love fest. LOL
I just had to put something into the LS forum as I haven't seen anything that I could worthwhile contribute to in a long time other than the standard congrats to new owners and there is just too many of them to worry with now.
FOR ALL THE NEW OWNERS OUT THERE THAT I DIDNT CONGRATULATE , CONGRATULATIONS ON HAVING A NEW TRACTOR.

Maybe y'all should move up to orange, green, red!:D I'll stick with my NH!

Well Gary,
Have you read your own post.
I have no problem with LS
But It is you and TSO on this thread that are implying that your brand is better than mine.
You are doing the very same thing that you are complaining about others doing.
I think you must have trouble comprehending the English written language. No where have I said or implied that LS is BETTER than any other tractor, but I will say that it is just as good and for the time being still much cheaper than almost any other tractor on the market. I don't know or care what brand tractor you have and whether or not it is a lemon or gold plated and operates itself. It must suit you or you would not have bought it.
I don't bleed red, green, blue, orange or any other color. I have a blue tractor, orange tractor, green tractor and red lawnmower. They suited me when I bought them and so far I don't regret buying anything I have. I looked at all brands when I bought my LS and the LS was the best for me of any brand and the cheapest. I actually looked at Kioti first which is where I found the LS tractors for the first time seen. When I worked the farm with my Dad in the 60-70s, we had Ford, John Deere, Allis-Chalmers, Minneapolis-Moline and International Harvester equipment. They all were good tractors and did the job that we bought them for. My favorite tractor was the one with the most HP at the time.

Well Gary... Helped you out with the boring part. There are LS owners alive and well. When i TRIED to trade my Ford on a Chevrolet I tried to explain to the salesman he wasn't giving me enough allowance on my trade. He replied " YOU BOUGHT THAT LEMON ....... NOW SUCK THE JUICE OUT OF IT !!!!!!!!!!!! Chalked it up to lifes small experiences. Still sold the Ford !

Did you have one of the 6.0 diesels? A friend just settled a lawsuit with Ford on his diesel truck (he won) and Ford has to warranty the engine for life plus pay all his out of pocket expenses previous and future if it goes bad again (on the 3rd engine now and still has problems)
