GREAT pictures guys! Thanks for posting. Gary, I like the one of the Bota next to the LS as well, it really shows just how much of a difference, size wise, there is. Did you use the FEL to dig the pond or something on the 3 point?

What size discs are you guys using, and how much do they weigh?

Thanks again for the pics, great looking tractors/equipment with some nice backgrounds too! I sure am jealous of you guys with those nice warm/cool cabs on your tractors

I pull a Case 12' disc with my R3039.... It does a decent job of it.

BTW, I have bent both of my 3pt stabilizers... I suspect using them with the 2 bottom plow was probably a no-no!!

Well Gary,
Have you read your own post.
I have no problem with LS
But It is you and TSO on this thread that are implying that your brand is better than mine.
You are doing the very same thing that you are complaining about others doing.

I think you need to re-read my original post. I'll quote it below, but I said that, since I had owned BOTH Kioti and LS, MY personal experience suggests that the LS is better. I was and still am a Kioti fan. .. search my posts on these forums and you will find that I always speak highly of Kioti. And as someone here already posted (waiting on delivery for his new DK45) I think the operators area is more comfortable on the Kioti. I posted a very fair and non aggressive comparison between the two when I was shopping and ultimately settled on the LS.

And also, another thing you'll notice from my posts on these forums, is that I don't directly say the LS makes a better tractor. (Unless it's a smart *** response to something) What I do say, is that the LS is a better value, and is built as well or better than the other brands. I don't bash other brands on here.

Make sure you know what you're accusing someone of before you go spouting off at the mouth... u just might need to insert your foot. ;-)

I'm having a difficult time understanding the point of your post. You seem to elude to the notion that there are problems with LS tractors, but that no one takes the time to fix them. Ironically, I've been thinking about the same topic for the last week or so. This forum is a bit boring, because no one seems to have problems with them. Granted, it is true that we are a relatively small community here on this forum. But it does seem to suggest that these are solid tractors.

I am around 100 hours on my r4047h. The tractor has been perfect so far. Not a single problem. Wait, I take that back, I did blow a fuse for the headlights.

Now, I should point out that I previously had an r4041 shuttle before I traded in for this tractor, and I had complained on the forum about the loader acting weird. After using this new tractor for a while, I have come to the conclusion that it was not an issue with the tractor, but it was an issue with me. I've noticed that when I have the RPM's up to a higher level, all of those issues go away. It does not present itself as much with the hydrostat because the RPM's are usually higher anyhow. I think I noticed the issues with the shuttle because I ran the shuttle at a continuously lower rpm. I think the problem was exacerbated by my previous tractor that I owned, which was a Kioti hydrostat. I think I was used to having the RPM's up higher and therefore the loader was always ready to work.

Speaking of that Kioti, I put around 200 hours on it in a year. That was a fine Tractor 2. However, it did have to go back to the dealer twice in that time. Once for a blown seal in the steering shaft, which was leaking fluid all over the place, and once for an O ring gasket in the quick couplers for the loader hydraulics.

Based on my experience, and the lack of complaints of LS tractors compared to the Kioti forum, in which you will find many complaints..., it seems to suggest that LS makes a better tractor.

Similar to your Corvette analogy, stocking your barn with a John Deere over an LS, due mostly to blind loyalty or incorrect assumptions of quality... Suggests that you are more interested in having something flashy as opposed to something that works.

Lol, my Prius is rock solid dependable, but you sure have to put your ego aside when you drive around in one. It saves a heck of a lot of money verses a Corvette though, and it's definitely more reliable.

I have almost committed to purchasing a new LS XR4046HC - I hope that I am bored to death not writing about the repairs on my new tractor.:)!

Not really when you think about it. Look at the specs on something like a Farmall M which was routinely used to pull a 12' disc, as well as a 3-14 plow. Its HP raiting is in the same range as the 3039, and doesnt have the benefit of 4wd.

I think the reason I had a "feeling" was because I've been following along on the "other" thread about the LS arguments. I was probably already predisposed to think that before even reading it.
Exactly what I thought.
Looked like a restart of the same argument of the other thread to me

I only have an 8 foot disk which is what I bought for my Yanmar 4220. It is as wide as I need which is disking the garden and occasionally run lightly over the pasture when reseeding while pulling a drag behind it. It is not nearly loaded and I gear up and throttle back to about 1400 RPM or so to travel about 6 mph. The disk is pretty heavy at around 1500 pounds with the two lengths of railroad track on it. Most of my uses for it is with 7 foot bushhog and that doesn't load it either but is as wide as I can go due to so many trees. The FEL has gotten the most use digging my little pond. I used a 6 foot box blade on the rear for ballast and to loosen up the hard top soil with the grass and drag it away from the pond dike area. After I got the top 3" of dirt and grass off, I didn't need the box blade to loosen up the dirt that much because the FEL was cutting into it pretty good.
