Yanmar farm tractors by model

(Tractordata.com)
Yanmar YT359 tractor
The Yanmar was founded in Japan in 1912. The firm has a long history with small diesel engines. The agricultural equipment division of the company was started in 1961. Yanmar entered into an arrangement with John Deere and began building several utility tractor models in the early 1980s for Deere. Yanmar continues to be an engine supplier for Deere's utility tractors. Yanmar entered an agreement with MTD in 2006 to jointly market compact tractors under the Cub Cadet Yanmar name in North America. The arrangement ended in 2011 and Yanmar America became the sole provider for the tractors.

i'm a big fan of Yanmars. There are a lot of G]green and yellow ones out there. It would have been interesting if they had stayed as a stand alone brand in the 70s instead of making tractors for John Deere. In my opinion they are still in the early days of establishing a dealer network.

Their i-HMT transmission is really cool - like a hydro without the power loss
I agree.
The "50 series", along w their 7,8,9 and 10 "70 series" were some off the best tractors JD ever put their name to.
Perhaps JD back in the 80's, recognized the efficacy of this brand and sort of "captured" their market here before they could.
Couldn't blame Yanmar for hitching their wagon to a company that had superior dealer networks.

The Kioti CK20SE series tractor which will spec out the same as the non SE models and the older CK10 series will spec out the same in hydraulic flow and pressure through out the series.
From the CK2620 to the CK4020 which is 11.33 gallon per minute flow, the tractors all have the same 3 point capacity of 1621 pounds at 24" from the hitch.

Kioti tractors and loaders for the CK 2620; break out at ground 3464 pound, Lift Capacity at 59.84 in. (1,520 mm) Pivot Pin Height 1,835 lbs. (832 kg)

So two possible loaders for the CK 10 or 20 series tractors which are used on all the tractors in that line regardless of engine HP, so lift and carrying capacities are the same through the CK series of tractor on both loaders and 3 point. And the loaders do have more capacity then the 3 points do.
Well I'm surprised.
First I've heard where loaders out lifted the 3 pt. But here again is how capacities are measured. If their 3 pt were measured at the pin points, I wonder if it would approach 2500#?
My own brand or the current Mahindra 1626 built by Mitsu, has a lift of 1550 at fel and about 2400 at 3 pt which could be at the pins as well..
The 25 and 26 series Mahindra's built by TYM, used to have a 2000# fel capacity advertised about 8-10 yrs ago.
Now those have been reduced to 1650# or what my current 3016 has been advertised as.
I wish the industry would standardize these figures.
I have lifted about 1800# at about 4' with my fel and would never in a million yrs lift that at full height even if it could.
Tractor is way too small for that stunt.

Measuring at the pins is for standardization as much as it is for inflating the numbers. Forward of the pins is more manipulation as everyone picks a different spot. It would be better if they all published the lift curves as geometry can change as you go up. 'At max height' is also a problem as the max height varies.

The number itself is not as important as that number compared to another. In other words. I would rather be lifting 1800 lbs 4' with a tractor that can lift 2000 lbs to 9', than with one that can lift 1300 to 7'.

The OP needs to sort out how he actually intends to use a tractor. If he only intends to use it on his own property, the dealer can deliver it and he doesn't have to have a trailer. The tractor only needs to be sized for his property use case.

If he intends to start doing paid jobs with the tractor that require hauling it, then his insurance company is going to want more money for a trailer endorsement. Then there will be liability insurance issues, and the rest like dealing with customers. Then there are issues like running over T posts, stumps, and other stuff hidden in the brush on someone else's land.

I personally wouldn't want to tow any compact tractor without at least a 3/4 or 1 ton truck, and the weight quickly escalates with the size of the tractor.
Guy across the road from me has a F150 with the eco boost engine in it and has been pulling a variety of trailers and he puked it yesterday.

FYI, I was looking very hard at the Kioti CK series tractors. They were top of my list until I decided to ratchet up the horsepower. That forced me to look at the TYM T474, and there was no looking back after that. Kioti came in second place concerning price and features. Placed an order for the T474 just the other day.

Great thread, I'm weighing out my options here in the sub-compact range.

Any specific thoughts on TYM T25 vs Kioti CX2510? There seems to be a ~$4,000 premium on the Kioti that I can't seem to justify. This is without even comparing the specs where the TYM seems like it can lift a few hundred pounds more and has some extra electronics (lights, chargers, speakers, etc).

I do have more Kioti than TYM dealers near me, but the closest of each are about the same distance away. I also do have an RK dealer, but at the same price point I might as well just stick straight with TYM being the OEM. And to be honest I will DIY as much of my maintenance as possible anyway.

It seems like based on the responses so far in this thread TYM is the better choice given the price difference, but I just want to make sure I'm not overlooking something.

Kioti prices seem higher than TYM prices to me in Middle TN. I would also like to know if there's a reason to pay more for a Kioti?

I looked at RK prices, too, and it seemed like TYM prices were just better, in comparison. Plus, I would prefer dealing directly with a TYM dealer instead of a retail outlet when it comes to parts and service.

A couple of things:

1) those are considered subcompact tractors. :)

2) Kioti makes a good tractor. One of my TYM dealers sells both, so I got to see them side by side

3) right now, there are a few more Kioti dealers in the US, but TYM is growing and as you figured out, you only really need one dealer

4) bang for your buck, the TYM will probably give you more. They are close enough that a dealer could give you a better deal on something else

5) probably most important, what do you expect to do with your tractor? How much land, topography...point being is the T25 or CK2510 the right size for you?

I'm also curious about dealers that sell both Kioti and TYM. What kind of answer do they give when you ask whether you should buy one versus the other one?

The guy in Longview was moving both. Not sure why, but that store wanted no part of the Yanmar engine models. I wanted to see a 554, but no luck.
