Buying Advice LS vs TYM vs Kioti

/ LS vs TYM vs Kioti #81
Love my LS got it for a GREAT price with 20hrs onit. Parts and hard to find until you realize how many other tractor manufactures are made BY LS and the the parts thing is very very good.

example - Case and New Holland
To be fair, CaseIH and New Holland are really the same brand, too (especially for compacts). That is still weird to me because when dad was in the business, IH was the big brand and Case and NH mostly sold implements and specialty equipment.

So....a 20ft trailer w/ a TYM T25 with loader and Rotary cutter is gonna weigh more than 11,000 pounds that my truck is rated to pull?????
Yeah..right
You have to realize 5030 is the MAN..🤪 and has pi$$ poor advice 99% of the time.

I'll throw my 2 cents in, hope the poster makes a good decision, yes, dealer is way more important than a thousand or two you originally paid. In 4 or 5 or 6 years when the tractor has an issue you can't fix, that money is longforgotten.

Get as big as you can afford with ONLY your money. If you make some money with it fine, otherwise, rent for your need and forget buying until you can really afford it. Hoping to start a business is setting yourself up to fail. How many customers do you really think need you vs. whomever they currently use?

And towing. Sure an f150 dog or any other half ton can get up to speed with a 10 or 15k load. It is a false narrative . The one and only issue is can you stop the dang thing in less than a mile? Safely stop without sway, without jackknifing from a highway speed in less than 150% over empty? No you can't if you don't have your dang trailer brakes hooked up and working correctly. And no, that new f150 ain't better than my old f250. Pulling is only 10% of towing.

To throw a monkey wrench 🔧 into this.....
What say ye about a JD3025e vs LS MT225HE??

From what I can tell....JD weighs a tad more..but the LS lifts more! One disappointment with the LS is the PTO HP...I've seen 17. 2 to 19.6 values for its PTO HP.

3025e PTO HP is 20.7

So regardless of the correct value..JD gets the win.

Thanks

You know why JD is not on the list? Because for the same money, the 3025e is a toy compared to what you can get from Kioti, LS or TYM. It is not like the JD is merely a few hundred or even a couple of thousand more.

This depends on usage.
The JD is comprised of plastic fenders, hood and floor board.
It also utilizes aluminum casing for its gear box.
If one is just cutting grass or smoothing out a road or grooming out a paddock or just plowing snow, it has its advantages in a suburban venue.
If one is using a tractor for the brutality of woods work such as logging in dense and ground obstructed terrain, then it fails woefully short.
The woods break skidders let alone stuff made of plastic and I do not care how strong one thinks the plastic is.
My fenders are made of steel but the outer portion is plastic for aesthetics I guess. I have replaced 3 of those fender liners already and they aren't cheap. My primary job for my machine is skidding.
Get high centered on a rock and resting on an aluminum gear case, I'd be concerned.
If I did get a JD for what I do, I would have to build skid plates for its entire length.

JD has cheapened this line of tractor from the original form of the 750, 770 and 790 series to such an extent, along with jacking up prices for lesser material, as to be called sinful.

The 3E series is... underwhelming, extraordinarily underwhelming.

There are plenty of people that own them, and enjoy them; more power to those folks, everyone should get every bit of enjoyment you can squeeze out of machine operation. That said, until they bring it up to par with the Kubota L02, Kioti CK20, TYM 15 series, Massey 18E, or even the the Mahindra 1600 series, I wouldn't touch one. I, personally, think the LS MT225E could also use an update, but it's not as far behind ergonomically as the Deere, it desperately needs more operator room. Well, to my tall, fat butt anyhow.

Now, the 3R series, I like them a lot, but that's a whole different animal.

Reason I throw the Deere in the mix, besides having 2 close dealers..and a 3rd dealer about an hour away..and the fact that you'll always get parts for them is I have a buddy, actually 2 different friends that have 3038e models. 1 friend uses it for his business...bush hogging...grading driveways...spreading gravel....and he borderline abuses the thing! Only busted each front loader hydraulic cylinder 2 different times. One under warranty replaced...and the 2nd was his fault he admits as he was attempting to pick up more than he should.
Other friend is clearing his 20 acres getting ready to build his house. The logs that his machine move with the grapple is impressive to say the least.

I get it. JD has a cult following almost..lol. Spec sheet...I can decimate most Jds with the competition. Ls, kioti, Tym lift more...weigh more...cost less etc etc. But with all that said...Jds get the job done. Period.
I think theybhave a promotion for the 3025D..gear drive for 19,999. The 3025e is 22k I believe. I want a hydrostat so kids and wife can drive it much easier. Both prices include front end loader.

LS MT225HE I can get for about 19k that is a hydrostat..so 3k less that 3025e and it lifts more..1600 v 1200 approx. A 25HP tractor is better than no tractor....and no emission crap to deal with.
However, I am my worst own enemy as I don't want buyers remorse and will go back and forth over this and that. Really good price for 25hp...vs wanting more PTO Hp for tilling etc.

Not having a kioti dealer close is hurting my decision..cause their CK line look to be the best bang for the buck by a long shot. So here comes LS..which is thousands less expensive.....but I still have reservations about them for some reason. I don't know why....my pastor has an LS...buddy at work...another friend has LS...all of them love them.

Sorry for the long post....

FWIW, LS makes New Hollands. I agree that the Kioti is pretty nice.

You can only ascertain just so much by "who loves (or hates) what.
Has very little to do w anything as the demographic is way too small as well as usage differences.
You can buy anything and it will serve you well (maybe).
I'll say something that fan boys of brands will shutter at: brand makes little difference in regards to longevity, reliability and durability as to how the average guy uses their tractor. They are elements of the unknown to your particular situation.
What makes way more difference is availability of the dealer in terms of parts, servicing and support.

I applaud your thought processes but the reality of the matter is that you cannot tell the future.
Ascertain with what you know and is most conducive to you in the present.
The "long run" is a crap shoot.

Why do I feel such? Because I was just like you. It is called "paralysis by analysis"
Working in the business has taught me otherwise.

To me it's like comparing apples to apples. A member here once suggested that you look at all of the contenders. When you are ready to buy put all of the names in a hat, close your eyes and pull one tag out. Without opening your eyes, picture which you hope it will be.
That's the tractor to buy.

If it was me I can almost guarantee it will be a Kubota.

They make a fine tractor above the 3000 series for my usage.
I'd bend their front tie rods like pretzels in this series for how I use a tractor.
At any rate, no tractor to me is worth a 200 mile round trip to a dealer no matter who makes it.
I'd buy a Belarus if the dealership was 10 minutes away.

I was thinking about getting my 1st tractor. I have just a few projects and then I wouldn't need one. However, I was thinking of starting a bush hogging/tractor services business. If I do 1 or 2 jobs a month...to make the payment..I essentially have a free tractor.

I really want a 35HP...but I don't think it's in the budget. I really like the Kioti CK3510...but again..price is a factor.

I've found a TYM dealer about an hour away that has a 'package' for about 25k. Tractor with loader, grapple, rotary cutter and 20ft trailer! That's less than just the kioti tractor and loader!!! Yes it's only 25 HP....but again...price.

I've tested driven some LS models. They seem ok....but I don't know if they are as good as TYM. Are they? I know like 4 or 5 people that have them and they seem happy. The Ls dealer is really close to me. I like the MT225e except for the loader joystick...way too short!!!

And, if I can be honest..I'm a little intimidated of a 20 ft trailer. It takes a 10 acre field to turn my supercrew F150 around...lol.

Thanks in advance.
I traded in another brand for an MT 225S with loader and QD buckets, spears, and pallet forks. They really have the operator in mind when they designed this little work horse. I use mine every day for something....working alone it's a 3rd hand....how many 25 hp tractors have a tilt wheel so that you can enter and exit easily yet have the wheel in your lap for ease of use when required...to name one I really like...no competing with the seat and wheel when mounting-dismounting....big deal when you are using it for close in work and have frequent reasons to dismount.

/ LS vs TYM vs Kioti #96
My Kioti CK has a tilt wheel. CK 2620SE and a cab and AC.

/ LS vs TYM vs Kioti #97
if you get a 20ft trailer, make sure it has load bearing stand up ramps, and not the removable/stow-away ones. the f150 rear wheels will come off the ground when you load your tractor. (it did it to a chevy silverado 1500 too). my tractor's only 4700, but with FL, bucket, and a mower, the leverage of the long trailers bring those little trucks right of the ground.

BoBrown,
I have an MT352 cab as well (hydro rather than shuttle though). Its been great so far....
Do you know which exact models from NH and Case are the same as the MT3....?
My LS dealer seems to be very proud of his parts and extras.. For example, I went to my local Kioti dealer to by bucket and thumb for my backhoe and paid about half of what my LS dealer wanted to charge.
I'd love to be able to shop The local NH and Case dealers for any parts or extras I need.

Take the LS part number and add MT to the front and you have the New Holland part number for that item. MT40409065 or 40409065 same part.....
