Everyone should have the right to express their thoughts, pro or con. Comments made by individuals should only be a part of the buying process.

No matter what the brand, the key should be to deal with a reputable dealer. A good dealer is the key to satisfaction after the sale. I have had a few problems with my selling dealer but found another who gladly performed the needed warranty work. Cub has stood behind their product 100% for me, even paying for transportation costs.

I do agree that sometimes these posts do go astray. Please try to start a new thread about positive uses for the LT series. Looking forward to the posts.

Just my opinion, Alan.

Without singling out individual posters, which BTW I think is REALLY unfair, let me clear the air here in regards to my posts about the CC LT's.

I stated the facts I knew as facts, and my opinions were opinions, often pointed out as humble opinions. That is one of the intents of these forums, and I am not sorry that I look at things in the world in a matter-of-factual manner, and not through a pair of rose tinted glasses. If anything I intended to post as a fact is untrue, please point those things out to me and I will apologize and stand corrected. I did not at any time break any rules here at TBN, and the intent of my posts was not to make anyone regret their purchase of a CC LT.

I think my posts were misconstrued as, "Bashing," because I am a lover of the old IH Cub Cadets and would just like to see the CC machines MTD makes get back to the quality that the old Cubs were known for. I feel (again, opinion) that MTD is cheaping the CC's out to a point that the brand name is losing respect, and that the company has a very lackadaisical concern for quality control. My posts were plainly not bashing, they were strong opinions, and there have been no instances where I have claimed to be an expert know-it-all, but lawn and garden tractors have been a big hobby of mine for over 30 years so I MIGHT be able to tell good from not-so-good.

AdaBoy, Now that's a post. Man if all the energy in this thread was used to get that much heart felt emotion out of a real tractor man, it's been all worth it. Unfortunately we newbies never saw that in not only yours but many other posts out here.
Just do me a favor and count the number of times you used "cheap" in the posts that I happened to pull. We 1000ers heard that much much more than the fact that we are also a part of a special legacy. And that we should also join you in pressing MTD to make all their tractors better for all of us.

And that's all the news that's fit to print!

Wow suburbansan you need to mellow out some.

Here is my first post where I first read Fordlords and I think he is doing a fine job with his feedback. Oh by the way my Ford truck had to have the transmission rebuilt at 95K miles, I should probably blame him since he has Ford in his name /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Board/cubcadet/Number/851967/page/0/view/sb/sb/5/fpart/1/vc/1/o/all

Here is some additional food for thought......
The problem I see with these manufactures is that they don't disclose what these tractors can or can't be used for. Plus you can't trust every dealers or a box store to tell you. Further more you can't just assume that every post like the one started above that every tractor has the same problem as mine did. You know every manufacture has problems with their product including car/truck manufactures like my 98 F-150 /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif but you either get it fixed or you buy something new this is called life.

So with that said Yes I do believe that these tractor manufactures need some bashing once in the while to keep them in line with MADE IN THE USA should still mean quality and maybe even some honest up front answers might be nice as well before you buy their product.

I dare you go to CC website and see if you can find anything on what these tractors can or can't haul or go up what kinds of slopes (oh slopes they may say a min. slope for mowing for saftey to cover their butt...these tractors can go up more well maybe not I have to cover my butt to). I sure didn't see any there last fall (there this is bashing since I believe they should). Now go to JD and see what they say for a tractor when doing there tractor selector with light hauling and having slopes or hills....guess what it will cost you 5K for a tractor there just so you can go up a hill (now that is bashing JD and giving CC kudos)! Not to mention you won't get as much as the CC will give you (oh more kudos). Plus CC when to bat and took my tractor back, since for 1 they did not tell me what it could do and 2 I believe the transmission is faulty (in my tractor I can't speak for the rest of the world). Now maybe a good 1554 would have worked fine, I don't know, since CC and the dealer recommended the 2554 to replace it with. Hey guess what that is 1K cheaper than the lowest JD tractor that is recommend for my yard (I'm on a role for CC kudos).

I do agree that you probably need to start a new thread if all you want is positive feed back so start it that way and leave out the bashing statements yourself! To me it almost sounds like you work for Cub Cadet and you are trying to discreadet Fordlords and the rest of us bashers out here!

I quickly counted the times I used the word, "cheap," or a dirivative of it in those posts and came up with 4, and one of those was referring to Kohler engines and not CC 1000's, and one of the other three to lawn tractor lineups in general.

I will however change my future terminology and use the words, "economy," or "inexpensive," when referring to things I feel are cheap in the future, as I know none of this equipment is exactly cheap pricewise, which is the point I am trying to get at with quality, and Stevebig brings up a very interesting point- and it is about deception.

Now anyone please answer this one for me.. whithout a forum like this, how would anyone, say Joe Average who is shopping for a tractor, know that in the case of Kohler that the Courage is the inexpensive 750 hour engine as opposed to the 2000 hour Command? Things like that and the things Stevebig mentioned are not clearly pointed out to the consumers of this equipment, yet are facts at least I think they would like to know before making a decision on a purchase. Maybe what I posted made some feel bad about their purchases, which I already stated was not my intent, but how might someone researching this kind of equipment know of its true credentials or capabilities without some of us actually sharing on a public forum what we know or understand them to be?

There is a big difference between bashing and opinions. I see a TON of true basing here at TBN, this is where someone states something is a POS without backing up their statement(s) with an ounce of fact or even founded opinions. There is NO circumstance where I did that in the case of the CC 1000's.

Myself along with many others here enjoy volunteering some of our time to help others with specific problems on any of the CC machines we know of or can be of help with. Singling me out here at TBN because I made some regret their purchase is just plain idiotic especially when I see I could back up and defend what I posted, yet the ones singling me out have not taken me up on the offer of my previous post of telling me exactly what I posted that was wrong or untrue or not pointed out as my opinion. Please remember that this is America, and as long as we are not posting libel, we are free to speak as we feel.
