it seems to me everyone has to lighten up abit and take these posts for what they are. try buying a 7530 cub like i did and see the lack of respect the tractor world has for these machines that is until you get the chance to show what it can do to some of the green & orange people. definitely not a lack of quality in my machine and obviously quite a bit different from the cc1000's and all the rest, but you have to do some homework before you buy a machine and figure out its' intended uses. i guess thats where a good dealer comes into play. ain't nothing ever easy. just my opinion.

Keep posting. The more information (opinions, facts, and feelings), the better.

That is it, you do your research, and buy what you feel will be the best for you. Then hopefully you can come on and post that it works well, or if not tell others of your troubles. There will always be naysayers, nit-pickers, or some that recommend something else, etc. I have to put up with a lot of grief from the classic CC purists who will always shun the Japanese built Honda engine in my 682, regardless if it is better than the original engine or not! We all take it on the chin with any purchase in one way or another /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif, but if it works great for you than there will be no regrets.

suburbansam fear not...
i am 250lbs and my 17cu cart hauled around 700lbs of stone and rocks without a problem before...
!!...i still get grass in my soda when cutting....lol

and just last weekend i was cutting trees, not big ,maybe 12 inches across and loading my cart level with the top and only heard alittle whining from the tranny..just a little

but the tranny WAS warm to touch but never got hot or quit or slowed down

matter of fact this is the sweetest little machine i've ever used...put my mothers yardman to shame and my father in laws murray to shame

her's is 1 season old..has 20hrs...and has had a tranny rebuild and belt replaced 2x's...paid $1000 at walmart for it(crap)
his runs so rough and the tranny is tough to get into gear and cuts like poop and paid $800 5yrs ago

i paid $1600 for my LT1042 at Tractor Supply..
use it twice at hard as my mom does and have not had a problem in 15hrs of service(thansk guys for the break in oil changing advice)...bought it alittle over a month ago(i've used it for everything)

i don't like to rush when i cut my grass...i like to see a clean even cut no gap cut everytime...

i clean my deck after each use by REMOVING IT...
not by using that gimmicky deckwash thing

i sharpen my blades after each use

and i rinse her down and dry her off with my leaf blower everytime

some of you may think taking 45-60 mins to cut just under an acre crazy... but i don't see the purpose in racing my tractor

my neighbor cuts his grass..same size..in less than 30mins and bounces all over the place

i was taught by my dad keep it slow and it'lll last for a very long time...tractor too..lol

he should know
he kept my grandfathers old blue ford lawn tractor(older than me and im 34) running with only 1 engine replacement ...changed the oil, maybe the tranny(not sure) but kept the speed at 1 all the time..slow going but never had an issue

so i keep the tradition alive with my LT1042...keep it slow...did my oil change a few service hrs ago and she's running strong

VERY VERY HAPPY...to get the same features in a JD would've had to pay $200 more and i couldn't see doing it when i didn't need to

my gripe is still...
MOVE THE CUPHOLDER!!...i still get grass in my soda when cutting....lol

still have not gotten my cover though... /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
Put a lid on it.

As far as "bashing", you have to remember that 90% of people who end up here (MyTF, TBN, etc.) end up here because they have a problem and are looking for an answer.
( I hope that this is at least my last for sharing with us what a belt slippage could and could not cause. I was definitely expecting the worst.

Without sounding 401ks just because we chose to read this "expert", "unbiased", "insightfull" site to learn about our cubs.

The CC 1000's are very nice tractors for the money, just like the 2500's are very nice for the money, and the 3000's etc.

The build of the 1000 series and the 2500 series don't really compare, nor should they!

do what .
I'd rather see the bashing rather than it never being mentioned than to buy one and find out the hard expensive disappointing way i got stuck with a piece of crap.

If you sharpen the blades after every cutting, you will probably need a new set of blades at leasr every season.

Bob B.

P.S. I don't think you would want to remove my 260 pound deck every mowing for cleaning. I removed it once in two seasons.

Wow !! this site is a total mess - I just had to read through everybody's double and triple posts (whats up with this site and the double posts) to get to the end...So if I understand Suburban Sam felt he was slighted by something Fordlords said about the Cub LT line? and that he almost bought the Deere LT line because of the sensitivity class was not in session that day?

I guess I only have two things to say:

1. Fordlords - dont appologize for anything -you did nothing wrong
2. SuburbanSam - Go trade the Cub in for a Deere LT then, and find out what sensitivity is really all about

Whats next Cooking school ?
